It was a forgettable day for the City of Kitwe on Saturday when Nkana and Power Dynamos were denied the opportunity of a Cup derby after they were both ejected from the 2016 Barclays Cup semifinals on home turf.

In the lunchtime kickoff, Zanaco barely broke sweat in the mid-day October heat to trounce Nkana 4-0.

Richard Kasonde punished his ex-club with the opening goal in the 6th minute and Aubrey Funga added the second in the 25th minute to put Zanaco 2-0 into the break.

Saith Sakala made it 3-0 in the 54th minute before Funga completed his brace ui the 73rd minute.

Zesco on the other hand did not have it easy in the late kickoff against Power.

They won 1-0 after an eventful first 45 minute minutes that ended scoreless to book ther final date with Zanaco.

Kelvin Mubanga almost put Power ahead in the 4th minute but his shot was parried by Jacob Banda.

Three minutes later, Zesco won a penalty off a Francis Kasonde handball but Jesse Were’s subsequent spot-kick was saved by the outstanding Allan Chibwe.

The post then conspired to deny Power the lead in the 11th minute when Patson Daka shot came off the woodwork.

Chibwe was again called into action in the 40th minute to keep out Simon Silwimba shot.

However, Chibwe was finally breached in the 54th minute by David Owino who pounced on a loose ball from Clatus Chama’s initial shot.
