Visiting President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, has winded up his 2-day state visit to Zambia and left for his country.

President Museveni departed from Kenneth Kaunda International airport at 15-25 hours local time.

He was in the country to grace the 52nd Independence Day celebrations.

Whist in Zambia, the Ugandan Head of State also held bilateral talks with his Zambian counterpart, Edgar Lungu.

The Ugandan President also visited and conferred with Zambia’s first Republican and founding Father, Kenneth Kaunda at his home where he hailed him for the liberation struggle efforts not only for Zambia but other Southern African countries as well as Uganda.

Mr. Museveni also inspected a guard of honour mounted for him by the Zambia Army Second Battalion.

A 21-gun salute was also accorded to him.

He also watched some dances as well as the PF women’s choir that sung solidarity songs entertaining the two leaders.

Mr Museveni was seen off at the KKIA by President Edgar Lungu, some Cabinet Ministers, defence chiefs, and Zambia’s Ambassador to Tanzania and Zambia Judith Kapijipanga and his counterpart, Dorothy Hyuha, senior Zambian and Ugandan government officials among others.

He was accompanied to Zambia by Minister for State and Foreign Affairs Okello Oryemu and other senior government officials.

    • If you want to know about a man’s role models, desires and aspirations, and a man’s true character, just look at the friends he likes associating with. It’s no coincidence that Lungu likes associating with two dictators, Museveni and Mugabe, and, most likely, they’ve been grooming him to be one. What a shame.

    • I would like to see how the back of a dictator looks like. I am sure I’ll Lungu’s soon when he kicks the bucket on his way to hell.

    • Dictatorship is not only measured by the length of time. someone stays in power.

A man may lead a country only for a year but be a terrible dictator.

It manifests itself mainly in the manner the leader carries the leadership.

If you are intolerant to dissenting views, you are a dictator.

Tell me what made HH chase Canisius Banda; was it not because Canisius had some dissenting views?

Tell me if a decade is short a period for someone to keep going without intra-party elections.

Is that not what HH has done in his party? More than ten years he is unwilling to go for elections.

Does he need members to cry out for elections for to comply if indeed he is a Democrat? Is it not him to give guidance the elections are needed? Instead he victimizes anyone he perceives a…

Indeed, HH is a dictator – even while in opposition.

    • Why talk about HH as if the article mentions him – talk about your clueless dictator Lungu who has fast learnt the tricks from Mugabe & Museveni – that’s the problem with PF cadres, u level of thinking is too shallow – just to help u, go into he street & celebrate the independence celebrations, the fuel hike & the impending second coming of IMF as u don’t need a permit from the hopeless POLICE chief & since u celebrate anything…..only fools can see the benefit in getting closer to Mugabe & Museveni

    • Museveni imprisons the opposition, is a liar and a thief. Lungu is learning well from him. Watch out, Zambia, the alcoholic moron will destroy the country.

  1. What benefit can we get from Museveni let him go back as the country has nothing to benefit from him?
Show me your friend and i will show you my Character.

  2. Dictators are now our leaders mentors? What a shame, Chansoni Sana as the Bembas say!!

What can we learn from MUGABE & MUSEVENI besides rigging elections & oppressing opposition?

KIM JONG UN will be next?

    • Easy boss fikaba fye bwino don’t loss faith especially for mother Zed,Chiluba already made a decree and the Lord is watching he never sleeps no slumbers and he is a just God in time my guy in time it will be all well.

  3. This is not a story. He has to go back home. Where else can he go? You will see when your president comes to South Africa we wont even have the story on our back pages

  4. Try to read and understand what the term dictator means. Just because Museveni has overstayed does not qualify him to be called a dictator. Uganda is a free country under Museveni. There is freedom of everything.

    • @Jay Jay, please educate us about the reason Besigye was charged with treason. Was it anything in their law books or something that was emotive? HH is currently not recognizing Lungu and so far so good. But if [or when] he declares himself State President, the Law will have something to say about that whether or not there is a sympathetic and reasonable petition to support his claims…

    • I agree that there’s freedom of everything in Uganda, especially stoopidity. Don’t Ugandans learn? From Obote the Drunkard, Idi Amin the Nutter, to Museveni the Life Dictator. All in one country. The only sane Ugandan was Yusuf Lule who was President for 68 days after Amin before realising what a dumbass nation he was leading.

  5. HH is imagination are kiling him. I am sure he was watching o the proceedings. Nawakwi must commended for genuine checks and balances not Harlot Hellen abaletukanafye insele. Nothing will change until 2021 when we vote E CL again. HH will be president for free masons in hell

  6. What waste of resources…do heads of State welcome this Lazy empty tin when visits other countries? He normally welcomed by a minister…do the Heads of State see him off? No its a waste of resources…
You simply see him off at State House…

  7. Museveni yesterday said , let the opposition stop funning violence because ‘ what if they set the country on fire today and tomorrow they become President, how are they going to govern the country?’
To me, this is wisdom worth praising because an election is a competition, and to think that your opponent has no supporters because you think he us not suitable in your eyes is like living in fool’s paradise.

  9. You can never understand donkeys. But then from nursery school we are taught that the most s.tupid animal is the donkey.
Just kook at GBM, at the recent press conference by HH, GBM said that 3million people voted for HH in the recent elections and himself and HH were fighting for the rights of thise 3 million who voted for HH. Honestly even if you are a donkey, surely you should know that the total number of votes cast was just about 3 million. But maybe GBM believes the UPND PVT which was based on total registered voters. Donkeys awe sure….hiho hiho hiho hiho that is all they can do.

  10. Museveni ,Mugabe ,Mubarak ,Mobutu,Mbasogo,Moi …eish coincidence? I think not.

Bwana Lungu you’d do well to avoid being close buddies with these “M ” type dictators who overstay.

  11. This dictator has some brains for development and they now have their own bus while Lungu is a visionless dictator. But why so many of those people doing nothing at the airport? No wonder Africa and Zambia is still in the dark under the Lungu kind of leadership

  12. Meanwhile HH is forming alliances with Joseph Koni! Its just time let HH continue with his violent ways and ICC will come knocking on his and GBVs doors!

  13. @kk airport cabinent..mwana I’m a senior blogger..my presence and 100 percent accurate political forcasts go back almost 10 years on this forum back to the days when this site was called Zambia-online, those days when Mwanawasa was always condemning it- feel free to check the archives young chap! And who are you?????????

  14. Once upon a time Museveni was a darling of the almost entire African continent. It is obvious that this is no longer so given his dictatorial tendencies and hold on to power. He has disappointed so many people on the Continent. That’s why they say it is very important to leave the stage while people are still clapping. Museveni is not going to die as a hero but something else

  15. ECL release political prisoners who did nothing during the flawed election which you failed to adhere to our ‘constitution’

  16. #2020vision: looks like you are losing your memory because of your old age. This site was never zambianonline. LT was up and running when ZO was still alive. LT was you called ZO?

  17. Zambians! You evidently have absorbed quite a lot of colonial brainwashing messages! Dictators is not a thing of our continent! It is language injected in here to convince us to tear our countries apart and we accepted it and have torn everything apart!! Like democracy, human rights, etc all those are measures designed to keep us under control. Don’t continue swallowing this! Rethink you destiny!!
