THE Patriotic Front is stronger and even more united at the moment as there are no divisions among senior party members despite some unscrupulous people claiming otherwise, PF secretary general Davis Mwila has charged. The PF was said to be divided on a number of key issues, including the appointment of Felix Mutati as Finance minister and the dismissal of Chishimba Kambwili as Information and Broadcasting minister as well as chief Government spokesperson.

But Mr Mwila dispelled the claims, stating that the party was still enjoying cordial relations with Mr Kambwili, who he said was still a member of the party and also a member of the central committee.

He also said that President Edgar Lungu enjoyed his prerogative to hire and fire and that no one could question why he appointed Mr Mutati.

“It is the prerogative of the President to appoint or fire whoever he wants and no one can question that. There are no divisions among senior members of our party as some unscrupulous people are claiming.

“As for Mr Kambwili they are talking about, we are still enjoying a cordial relationship with him; he is still a member of the party and the central committee. There is unity in the party, there are no divisions,” he said.

He said that the PF, as a party, did not have any problems with Mr Kambwili even if he was being investigated by the Anti-Corruption Commission.

And Mr Mwila said that those who thought that PF officials were aggrieved by the appointment of an opposition leader (Mr Mutati) as a Cabinet minister were wrong because they understood the President’s powers to hire and fire. He said that personally he was happy with the way Mr Mutati was executing his duties so far as the Minister of Finance.

    • @Nostradamus
I have just come from zambia, Boi! Things are bad,,,,,, anyway I have two important messages for you, chishimba kambwili wants you to arrange a Peace meeting between him and ba GBM, message number two, canisius Banda wants you to arrange a job for him with Edgar lungu, kaili Edgar is firing people so canisius thinks he might have a chance. Both kambwili and canisius say you are only person who can fix their deals,,,, I have told don’t say I didn’t!!!

    • “And Mr Mwila said that those who thought that PF officials were aggrieved by the appointment of an opposition leader (Mr Mutati) as a Cabinet minister were wrong because they understood the President’s powers to hire and fire”……….so it’s all about the “officials” and not what the grassroots feel ka? This arrogance that you’ve learnt from MMD is taking you nowhere ba Mwila. Today Dora, RB and Mutati have become more righteous than Kambwili and yet it was a corrupt regime they where a part of that we fought so hard to remove from power as PF. We’ve lost a ward in Nkana constituency and still you can’t read the writing on the wall that appointments of MMD members over loyal PF members have brought big divisions in PF? Anyway, you failed to get support to win a constituency why…

    • How they think they can have Kambwili as a mere MP without something exploding in the arty is beyond me.

They should hope Kambwili moves on – Edgar missed the trick with kambwili he should have demoted him instead of firing him.

Move him and make his position untenable instead of embarrassing the man, for that action you an bet , there will be some reaction.

Make him jump- dont push him.

      Thanks

    • MUTATI TALKS TOO MUCH.
      WILL HE DELIVER?
THE 38% FUEL INCEASE WAS TOO MUCH: IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN GRADUAL
      IT WILL HURT PF
MUTATI IS VERY AMBITIOUS: WATCH OUT

  1. Obviously Kambwili is hurting, and being shallow as he is , his ego must have been badly bruised.

Ah, I thought he was Dr Kambwili, Mr Mwila. Did you also strip his Honorary Doctorate pending investigation ?

Anyway, we don’t expect you to come here and say there are divisions. It is your job to play Comical Ali character to the letter , and you are doing great.

  2. Apa PF yasila….back to MMD! How many 2011 MMD Ministers are back and in key positions. Mutati president of MMD will fix what chikwanda destroyed!

  3. This guy has never really impressed me about being authentic. He says things out of constitution (remember inmates voting) and shows flip-flop tendencies in the style of old politics when we didn’t have the Internet to verify sources or quickly check contradictions. So anyway ni zanu izo muzaciona.

  4. If Kambwili has committed a crime let him face the music just like all of us. What so special about him? Is it his thick neck? Those making noise about this human hippo are beneficiary of ill gotten wealth. To them corruption is normal. It pains me to see these leeches drinking everyday and building mansions while hardworking miners have nothing to show for their toil. Make corruption a crime punishable by public execution.

  5. It surprises me when people are saying MMD was removed because of corruption. PF are doing the same e.g Kambwili and other people in PF. So both parties are very corrupt makes no difference.

  6. Most of my fellow bloggers don’t think deep better you wait for a while, there muust be something behind the sucking CK ,
I don’t see corruption on this issue ,to any wealth there must be history so let us suppose CK got a loan from the banks in zambia since he had the capacity to get one .
You should’t also realise his wife is a nurse in uk here loans are so easy to get if she 24£ I mean 24000×18= how much do you get that is a lot of money .
Some people work hard with their than most of you talkers with no known work .
The wealth you are talking about with CK is attainable , let us now look at events in pf politics ,we have heard one tonga man saying they should’t increase the term of presidency for Lungu .
You realise Lungu is quaet about it which means he likes that…

  7. Although the President has the prerogative to appoint and to fire, citizens also have the prerogative to comment and to voice their views over these issues. Ordinary citizens also can comment on the cohesiveness and unity of political parties as they perceive them. Firing a key Minister barely weeks after his reappointment is not a sign of unity. Kambwilis “corruption” was known by the President long before his reappointment and did not just start suddenly. His dismissal is, therefore, more political than criminal. How many people has ECL fired over corruption? Who in the PF leadership has not benefitted from corruption? Mr. Mwila Zambians are not as dull as yourself.

  8. The so called original PF Members are forgetting something here, they won both the January 2015 and August 11 2016 Elections with the MMD Vote. This means that without the MMD vote I don’t think they would have been in power by now. SO PF members should no by now that them alone can’t win an election. If they want to try their lucky let them work on there own and in no time they will be out of government.

  9. DAVIS MWILA IS SO DWAFT THAT HE CAN’T READ READ BETWEEN LIS. ONE WONDERS HOW CAN ORGANISE A PARTY AFTER FAILING TO ORGANISE HIS CONSTITUENCY WITH ALL THE GOV’T RESOURCES AT HIS DISPOSAL!!
MWILA IS ONLY GOOD AT CORRUPTION. STORIES EMERGING FROM MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS ARE THAT HE WAS INVOLVED IN HUGE CORRUPT SCANDALS. THE QUESTION IS WHY ISN’T HE BEING INVESTIGATED BUT ONLY KAMBWILI?
