Some Munali Constituency PF Officials have said they will rally behind the right candidate in the constituency irrespective of who will be chosen by the party if there is a by-election in the area.
This revelation comes in the wake of the nullified Munali Constituency seat held by Prof. Nkandu Luo who until her nullification also served as Cabinet Minister in charge Higher Education.
The officials said they will support the candidature of the losing MMD candidate in the general elections Mike Mposha regardless of where he will stand whether on PF or MMD tickets.
The constituency officials who have declined to be named, said they have been vindicated by the nullification of Nkandu Luo because she didn’t deserve the party’s adoption certificate which she got dubiously saying it was the beginning of problems in Munali.
“We have said it before that we have been adopting wrong people, we as a constituency chose Mike Mposha as our candidate even through the interviews, but Luo bulldozed her way through the central committee.We said let’s wait and see where these problems will take them.You see, katwishi why we are running the party like a chipante pante as though we are amateurs who don’t know anything.No one should even blame the President on this one or the courts.It’s just clear that our Lady was not rightly chosen, she didn’t deserve it in the first place.

“This nullification is good for all us, because we told them, infact if they gave us Mumbi Phiri it was going to be better because she worked.We lost votes from students this time with Nkandu Luo but those days Mumbi Phiri is one person who was loved among students because as a Constituency leadership we never struggled with her.When we were in the opposition, every time there is a riot she would be at the fore front, sometimes she slept on campus with the female students.Ask yourself can Nkandu LUO beat Antonio Mwanza, that’s why even UPND is petitioning this election because they are confused as much as we are.We lost a very good candidate who was Mposha to MMD and this time we won’t leave any stone unturned over ensuring Munali Constituency goes to Mike Mposha who is easy to sell to the electorates ,” the officials said.
Mr Mposha won adoption elections in the PF adoption process before Nkandu Luo was given the adoption certificate to the disappointment of the constituency officials.
Mr Mposha was the MMD candidate in Munali constituency.
Meanwhile people within the PF have already started showing interest in contesting the Munali seat as a Hash tag has already been created by a Mubanga Mundashi.
Mr Mundashi who is the brain behind the PF National Youth league has openly declared that he will go for the seat.
In a post on his Facebook page Mr Mundashi said youths should not be made cadres but allowed to aspire for higher positions and that the chance had presented itself for a youth to take up from Prof Nkandu Luo.
The #MubangaMundashi4Munali2017PFTicket is latest indicator of the cracks in the ruling Party as reports in the media reveal growing discontent among party members especially the youths.
“Surely I feel extremely encouraged by all these gestures. I want to be a shining example for many youths who think their time has not yet come and their place in politics is to be mere cadres. I will not listen to anyone discouraging me because the negative voice is weak. I will however take advise where necessary.
“Let me state that I respect the rule of law and the party organs: Hon Professor Nkandu Luo has appealed against the nullification. We don’t want to seen to be going against the Party. When everything is settled we will surely start doing our homework so as to ensure PF Zambia wins the seat back.
“Surely Munali needs fresh minds that understand its problems and resonates with the people continuously.The time has come to rekindle the energy of 2011 and put back the hope and life into the community of Munali.”
