EASTERN Province Patriotic Front (PF) Chairperson Andrew Lubusha has
appealed to law enforcement agencies to expedite the investigations
into Ikulile Initiative Enterprise so that the people involved could
be brought to book.
Mr Lubusha said at a media interaction held at Eastern Comfort Lodge
in Chipata yesterday that the people should be arrested for swindling
over 300 people in the
He said it was unfortunate that people who allegedly swindled farmers,
civil servants and others have been let scot free in the streets.
“It is unfortunate that from that time when President Edgar Lungu
called on the investigations wing to investigate the matter nothing is
being done. So I am appealing to law enforcement agencies to expedite
the process to bring the culprits to book,” he said.
Mr Lubusha said it was painful that people were swindled their hard
earned money by Ikulile Initiative Enterprise which he described as a
failed project.
In October this year the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) indicated
that it was still investigating the matter where more than 300 people
in Eastern Province were allegedly swindled out of over K 1 million by
Ikulile.
The money which various individuals paid to Ikulile Initiative
Enterprise to be supplied with bags of cement is about K 20,000.
In April this year, President Lungu said he would not allow Eastern
Province to become a bedroom for what he described as conmen.
Speaking upon arrival at Chipata Airport, President Lungu said people
in the province have lost money through various scams where they were
cheated to be helped.
He, therefore, directed the police to investigate and arrest all
those involved in the Ikulile Initiative Enterprise regardless of
whether they were from the ruling party or government officials.
Not just arrest but get back the money. Sell the swindler’s property if need be. Corruption will only stop when realise they will lose the proceeds of the act, just arresting and jailing them doesn’t get back the money.
These PF thugs who did this are the ones who are suppose to be in prison, Not Mwaliteta, These thugs steal poor people’s hard earned cash and go about as if nothing happened just because they are PF, Can you imagine if it was GBM or HH companies or carders who did this, The all police command will fall on them like a tone of bricks as rightly put by their vision-less EL

This Northern and Eastern Zambians’ political marriage is really a ‘marriage of convenience’ sustained just to beat off Tonga Presidential succession. While the Northerners are more politically generous the Easterners are too selfish.

Those who have followed Attan Mwamba’s political career may recall that PF East rejected his application to contest Chipata central simply based on his origins in preference for Lameck Mangani, a newcomer from MMD.
So from the chronological analysis you can see that the East is politically sly or selfish. They only vote along with the North when it suits them.
May be when Kashimba Chimbwili launches his party they may fully support him as reciprocal for the enormous support their own inept ECL got without which the man was going nowhere. East + part of Lusaka alone can never win ECL Presidency cos even when 7 provinces have voted ECL + rigging the difference is too minimal.

@ Neutral you are absolutely correct! Easterners are the most tribal in Zambia yet we accuse wrong people of tribalism. You have put down the history of tribal voting from our cousins since 1964 very well. Easterners have always voted for their own whilst us Northerners we stupidly and blindly follow them. In 1991 the MMD led by a Bemba got 100% of parliamentary seats from Southern Province, the highest from all provinces, yet the kumawa boys voted for KK because he is their village boy. Let PF float a non-Easterner in 2021 and you will see Easterners looking for a fellow Easterner to vote for from another party.
Just do a search and find out how hard it that slogans like “Umodzi Kumawa” and “Wako ni Wako” which we have so many times heard being used are difficult to find in the lingua of other regions of the country!
