Government has commended various organisations contributing to the wellbeing of the aged and the vulnerable in society.
Minister of justice Given Lubinda said caring for the aged and the vulnerable in society is a core business of every individual, institution and cooperate organisations.
Mr Lubinda however said government has put in place a number of initiatives aimed at uplifting the living standards of the vulnerable in the community.
He advised the civil society and the church among others not to relent in supplementing government efforts of assisting the vulnerable in the country.
He said this in Lusaka last evening during at the fundraising diner of the Devine Mercy Home for the Aged and Vulnerable (DMH).
The fundraising dinner was held to raise money for the sustainability programme phase 1 Farm Project of the Devine Mercy Home for the Aged and Vulnerable (DMH).
The minister commended the Devine Mercy Home for the Aged and Vulnerable for its tireless efforts of ensuring that the less privileged in society have access to various basic needs.
Earlier, Devine Mercy Home for the Aged and Vulnerable Martina Mitambo said there is need for the well to do in society to show compassion to the needy in society.
