Non-Governmental Organizations’ Coordinating Council (NGOCC) Executive Director Engwase Mwale has called for the quick arrest of Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Davies Mwila for inciting violence towards political opponents and for promoting lawlessness.

Mr. Mwila recently directed PF cadres in Kabwe to take full control of markets and bus stations, including pieces of land which might be deemed as lawless being instigated by the ruling party.

The Pan African Radio Journalist Hermit Hachilonde reports that Ms. Mwale said the disorder being witnessed in some parts of Zambia has been fanned by the top brass of the PF going by Mwila’s directive that PF members should first share available land before it is advertised to the public.

Ms. Mwale said it is obvious Mr. Mwila is a selfish leader who is concerned about elevating his welfare without caring about other citizens especially the vulnerable and marginalized adding that his instruction can undermine the rule of law.

She also dared President Edgar Lungu to explain the PF’s position regarding its Secretary General untimely utterances and has demanded for apt action to be taken against him.

And Ms. Mwale has urged the Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) to probe land allocations by local authorities especially in PF strongholds following Mwila’s statement.

“The directive by the Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Davis Mwila is a confirmation that lawlessness being witnessed in Lusaka and other parts of the country has a blessing of the top leadership of the party in Government.

“Demanded that the police should immediately arrest Mr. Mwila for inciting violence towards political opponents and for promoting lawlessness” Ms. Mwale said
