Senegal target to down Zambia

Share

Senegal U20 coach Joseph Koto is relishing his sides 2017 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations final meeting on March 12 against hosts Zambia.

The 2015 runners-up beat Guinea 1-0 thanks to a 12th minute Aliou Badji goal on Thursday in Ndola to qualify to their second consecutive final after losing 1-0 to Nigeria two years ago as hosts in Dakar.

This will be the two sides debut tournament meeting but Koto is hoping to go one step further and collect their first-ever Under-20 crown.

“What happened in Senegal in 2015 is history and what is important is what is taking place now in Zambia,” Koto said.

“Of course the players are the ones who will decide whether will lift the trophy or not.”

Guinea will play South Africa for bronze in the curtain-raiser at 14h00 in Sunday’s doubleheader at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

Zambia and Senegal will play to decide the champions in the 17h30 kickoff.

    • YES, SENEGAL WILL WIN IF:
      1. Our coach continues to allow big-headed players like Fashion to be selfish with the ball
      2. We don’t improve on our ball control and perfect our passes – the quality of passes and ball control skills have been very poor in the Zambia team. Ive not seen the boys play an accurate string of up to 5 or 6 continuous passes – they always lose the ball very carelessily.
      3. Our goalkeeper is not reminded that his job is not to scream at teammates all the time but to play in a cohesive manner with his defence – he should leave coaching to the coach. His actions can cause panic and desperation at the back.
      4. Our defence doesn’t contain the pacey wingers of Senegal
      5. We don’t realise that it doesn’t count to spent more than 50% of game time in your OWN…

  1. Tell them that if they try their tricks,The will not leave the stadium. This is not mare say it is a warning.Shileseka awe.

  2. It’s an arrival for Zambia. Senegal are the incumbents. What a classic showcase it is destined to be! The better or the luckier of the two sides will carry the day. But if home ground advantage is anything to go by, then Zambia is the team to bet on.

  3. The Senegalise needs to be searched on Sunday for Juju before the enter the pitch. What did they exchange in the provious match?

  4. We are very much aware that these chaps ma senesene intend to use juju. We will use Yesu Christu amen amen.

    • You seem to know something. But why did they lose at home to Nigeria? How come their juju couldn’t work on their home ground? Or is this something they just acquired?

  5. SENEGALISE CANT RUN FASTER THAN ZAMBIAN BOYS BECAUSE THEIR NTWENO KANU IS VERY BIG STRONG AND RELAIBLE LIKE ZANACO THUS WHY ZAMBIAN GIRLS ARE MAD ON SENESENE NOT BENA FASHION, DAKA,BANDA,CHILUFYA EXCEPT TONGAZ THEIR NTWENU IS LIKE FWAKA ROTHMANS

  6. These guys know who their father is and so dont worry about Juju. If juju was real then Senegal would have 8 world cups to their name. Havent you seen Chipolopolo worship their Daddy? Its just a beautiful thing to see. Go Zambia. This Afcon is as important as the senior Afcon.

  7. @ Wanu Ngwee How negative can you be? Zambia has reached the final not by chance so please have a bit of some faith. Niggas like you never appreciate sh*t

    • No @Wanu Ngwee is not negative actually I like his contribution most of the points are true apart from the Goal Keeper one I feel if have played soccer before you would understand a good defense starts from the Goal keeper as he is the one with a clear perspective of the mistake so a shout and push on defenders makes them awake I like that Boy Mangani Banda umwaice ulya mukali alefwaikwa ukumucita entertain with “mwine Nshima” for the hard work. Why don’t some one sponsor “Mwine Nshima” ku final…… kikikikiki!

  8. Comment:this time the cup is remaining in Zambia,Zambia champion for real go Zambia we are supporting u 100%

  9. Ati juju…how do you know?It takes one to know one..
Leave that juju nonsense out of football.Only the best team will win.
Anyway thats Zambian Christianity for you.Hardcore drinking/flirting followed by bible thumping on Sundays and national day of “prayer” or “player”

  10. its time for zambia to be happy.we didnt qualify to senior competition but now we are happy and lets keep this team well.

  11. I’m sorry to say this but I thought Zambian were smart people, but I’m really disappointed. If juju was working and we Senegalese were relying on it wouldn’t we have won the world cup already. Why disrespect us with your baseless allegations. In God we trust and in our talented players abilities we rely. If God’s willing we win the cup in your own backyard. Intimidation doesn’t work with Senegalese.

  12. I am senegalese and my wife is born in ndola she supports Zambia.
But say all you want. Only 2 teams with 11 players each of them will be in the field.
WE WILL WE WILL ROCK YOU. SENEGAL THIA KAW THIA KANAM…
WE HAVE NO JUJU. WE HAVE MANY SOCCER SCHOOLS THAT’S OUR JUJU.

  13. all we need is a win so guys pull up ur socks we’r behind u make the nation proud and pray to the only king of king’s (God)to guide u…..GOALOOOOOOOOOOO ZAMBIA GOOOOOOOO
