President Lungu Briefs the Press at City Airport
President Edgar Lungu has directed that no Minister or PF members should comment on the ongoing case of UPND leader Haikande Hichilema without guidance from State House or relevant Ministries.

And President Lungu said that only Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba will handle issues that are of interest to diplomats accredited to Zambia.

He says it is important to restrict the number of people commenting on the issue because it is a judicial case which should be left entirely to the judiciary.

The Head of State said this through his Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda.

He also said that any Minister who wants to comment on the matter should seek guidance from the Minister of Information and Broadcasting or State House.

President Lungu has also directed that Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo is mandated to comment on the security matters of the country.

He added that all statements should be cleared by state house, ministries of information, foreign affairs and home affairs.

The plot has back-fired. PF00Ls now have to do damage to their PR. Everyone can now see their evil & hatred for HH.

Why hide your weakness behind brutal police? If u r weak use other means to get respect.

THE ISSUE HAS BECOME TOO HOT. HE IS SPENDING SLEEPLESS NIGHTS. MORE IS COMING. THE IMF WILL NOT RELEASE THE MONEY ON THE BASIS OF FAILURE BY THE PF ADMINISTRATION TO UPHOLD GOOD GOVERNANCE, THE RULE OF LAW, FOR KEEPING THIEVES AT STATE HOUSE AND FOR SUPPRESSING MEDIA FREEDOM. ZAMBIA UNDER PF IS DOOMED.

@ Manomambulwa you’re factual for in all truth wherever government officials go issues on good governance confront them. I can imagine the Mutati team visiting with the IMF being asked for clarification on what is going on in Zambia throwing in disarray what could have been a rehearsed approach to bail out discussions! When will our leaders learn to interpret “good governance” as applied by the international community especially with reference to African governments? Africans will limit “good governance” to holding elections period!

Why does he have to issue a public statement on this? I mean why can’t he just say this in their cabinet meetings or via an internal PF memo?

@Sunday Chanda, Mumbi Phiri, Frank all should be exiled. Some things they say are not praises to Lungu but pure insults on him, they mock Lungu. Power is at PF offices.

You are oppressing the opposition and you are going begging to the IMF ?? A lot of carring zambians have signed a peition to stop you getting more western money to use to brutalise people who oppose you.

The IMF team that was recently in Zambia recommended this country is creditworthy and are willing to lend Zambia money. Your petition is too regionalised to pass for a national test and cannot carry any weight anywhere. Felix Mutati is a well known financial and economic manager who has been on the IMF/WB radar for a long time now. Accredited observers passed the 2016 election free and fair some of which include the Commonwealth, The Carter Foundation, do you think they will listen to a tonga twit like you?? Just wake from your dream and realise Zambia is not just Southern Province!!!

      Zambian citizen,

If the west takes no notice of oppressed citizens then lungu is in luck.
FYI i am a ngoni and many sensible northerners signed the petition.

      Spaka,
I doubt it is luck, it is that the west analyse the situation on the ground and realise, with facts, that ECL didn’t impose himself on Zambians but was elected by the same Zambians to lead them. That petition means it is only a minority that wants to punish the majority-how would this reflect on their socio-economic fundamentals??? For IMF it is business as usual and they don’t want to get involved in the politics of a country. I used Southern Province as a figure of speech as it is the epitome of the upnd you support!!

The country needs healing and not vengeance.
We need to focus on prosperity, no need to lockup Lungu or any other former president.
We need to look past pettiness and create an atmosphere of love, respect, hard work, integrity, faith and hope.

@ Kayote RUBBISH and more RUBBISH! LUNGU is the one that is actually the LAW BREAKER and Zambians should make an example of him that will live long in their memories. After he himself has been saying “the LAW must be followed,” but he himself is the biggest culprit, can we just allow this thief to get away with his ill-gotten gains?

This is the advice Lungu got from his lawyers after the treason case’s first day was ripped apart by HH’s lawyers due to comments the PF cadres have been making about how they smoked HH from his bunker. You have a president who has no Scooby doo about his job description. My amble advice to your president is ‘ FIX THE ECONOMY AND NOT HH’

Dictator telling Citizens what to do as if he owns them, and since these dull cadres, Ministers and the blind followers have a slave mentality, they keep quiet as told by the dictator. Useless people. Rise up Zambia, do not let Museveni and Mugabe rule Zambia through Chagwa. Death to Chagwa, long live Zambia.

President Lungu should get rid of his minister Kampyongo. That clown might have been the one to call for HH’s arrest, by the time the president realized, it was too late to reverse the charges. Reason you should not befriend nonsensical people like father Bwalya, The PF secretary general and at times Mumbi always screaming Phiri.

But ba upnd you are bitter people.i wonder how you live in your homes.this kind of hatred for PF and ECL is evil!!you just trouble your hearts because ECL does not read your insults.Besides, no matter how you insult him,he will remain Zambian president until 2021.moreover,50 yrs from today, pupils will be learning in social studies that the 6th Zambian president was Edgar Lungu, sadly no pupil will hear the name HH if he fails to become Zambian president.so from whatever angle you look at it,Edgar Lungu wins because he has already achieved becoming Zambian president!!SO TONE DOWN GUYS.LETS WORK.WE CANT KEEP ON FIGHTING DAILY AS IF WE ARE NOT CHRISTIANS!!

Oh please Christians? Don’t use the name of the lord in vain.
PF is a den of corrupt thieves and thugs, they are rife with vengeance, tribalism and pettiness.
You quote scripture when it suits you. Your national prayers are vanity. The country is rife with adultery and alcoholism.
So don’t you use Christ to win your argument here.

Lungu, Lungu. He has realized the PF holigans like the fake father are self implicating that they are involved in directing the police. Trying moves from expired leaders like M7 and Mugabe. For them, they are independence heros that is why some of their have tolerated their behaviour. For you, as soon as you leave the presidency trouble will follow until you are in jail.

The more I read comments, the more I realise how ingenus Kaunda was with his one party state. We need to look at our history in order to understand ourselves. We are so divided as a country to the point where those dictatorial or should I say communist remarks of one party state are hitting home. To put it plainly, multi-party politics is failing us in Zambia. The Judiciary of Zambia is a laughing stock and responsible for the mess we are in. How can you have a situation where all high profile cases are inconclusive? The courts have become irrelevant and only serve as playgrounds for politicians to pick fights. Just like the petition, this case will be inconclusive and a waste of tax payers money.

Part of the case that HH is facing are treasonable in nature and as such, the magistrate court can’t handle such cases. It will be up to the high court to determine anything and its too early for anyone to celebrate. In the mean time, he will remain in Chimbokaila with Mwaliteta enjoying beans and chibwantu and continue appearing in the magistrate whilst waiting for instruction from the DPP on how to proceed.

WHAT DO I MEAN? YOU MAY NOT LIKE THE PERSON OCCUPYING A CERTAIN POSITION BUT U HAVE A CIVIC DUTY TO RESPECT THEM. PLEASE LET US EXCHANGE VIEWS WITHOUT EXPRESSING HATRED FOR ANYONE

Am shocked that the dummy president in the name of HH is still rotting in prison.Arrogance and politics of confrontation is long gone use ideologies and the knowledge acquired from school. Its Christmas again for his lawyers, remember they always start with preliminaries in any case so that they milk HH’s money.
