Nkana finally win , Power draw

Nkana broke their winless drought on Saturday after beating Napsa Stars 2-0 away in Lusaka.

The result came in the wake of last weekends 1-0 away loss at Nchanga Rangers that saw Nkana pick up just one point from their opening two games.

Austin Muwowo scored in the 50th minute while Shadreck Musonda added the final goal in stoppage time.

The win is a big boost for Nkana ahead of next Sunday’s big Copperbelt showdown at home against Zesco United.

Zesco, meanwhile, thumped Nchanga Rangers 4-1 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Jesse Were scored a 13th minute penalty, Lazarus Kambole added a brace in the 37th and 45th minute while Idris Mbombo struck the final goal in the 64th minute.

Samson Mubanga got Nchanga’s consolation goal from the penalty spot in the 78th minute

Zesco have six points from two games with a match in hand.

At Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe, Power Dynamos missed an opportunity to put some gloss on their unbeaten start to the league campaign after drawing 1-1 at home with Nkwazi.

But Power had to come from behind to steal a point at home after Edward Mwamba put Nkwazi ahead in the 2nd minute.

Fwayo Tembo capitalized on some poor goalkeeping by Kalaba Makasa when he pounced to score on the rebound after the latter failed to deal with Francis Kasonde’s shot that had come off the woodwork.

Power have 5 points out of a possible 9.

Meanwhile, Lumwana Radiants lead the table on 7 points after a 2-1 home win over former leaders Green Eagles.

Zesco are second on 6 points.
