The 2017 Ease of Doing Business Initiative ( EDBI ) Conference has closed in Livingstone with Commerce, Trade and Industry Permanent Secretary Kayula Siame urging delegates from 23 countries to keep up the momentum of reforming their business environment.
Mrs Kayula said countries should also continue networking and exchanging notes on how best they could improve their operating atmosphere.
She described the three-day conference as fruitful and interactive saying delegates had high quality discussions.
“ The business reforms are the catalysts for the investment climate and so we should maintain the momentum on reforms. We need to use the reforms to create job opportunities and a conducive environment for the private sector to thrive,” Mrs Kayula said.
The theme for the 2017 conference was “Business Reforms for Industrialization, Value Addition and Job Creation.’’
This year’s EDBI Conference attracted twenty-three (23) countries in total.
“Apparently, Zambia is one of the reliable partners of reforms and transformation for sustainable development be it in business and economic management.
“We believe this year’s theme is timely and speaks to our national agenda of Industrialization and Job Creation,” Mrs. Siame said.

It’s good to remain hopeful when all indications show that the country is quickly going down the slopes.
