FAZ DIV 1 WRAP: Geokas Curve-Ndola United match abandoned

Share

Inadequate security forced Mufulira referee Kelvin Musonda to abandon Sunday’s FAZ Division 1 Zone 2 match between home side Geokas Curve United and Ndola United at Garden Park Stadium in Kitwe.

This Week 9 match was called off at half time when the two teams were tied goalless.

Musonda ruled that the match could not continue after Police officers deserted the stadium in unexplained circumstances.

“The match was abandoned at half time when the scores were 0-0 but I can’t say much,” Geokas coach Webby Kabinda confirmed.

The match will be referred to FAZ for a ruling.

Elsewhere in Zone 2, leaders Kitwe United forced a 2-2 draw at Indeni in Ndola to stay top for three consecutive weeks.

Chingalika have 18 points after 9 matches played.

Mufulira Blackpool climbed into the top 8 following a 1-0 victory over visitors FQMO Mining Operation at Kachofa Stadium in Kamuchanga, Mufulira.

In Luanshya, limping Roan United were the biggest winners in this division after posting a 5-2 win over Chingola Police at Kafubu Stadium.

Chileshe Musonda and Esprit Kasongo registered a brace each with Denicious Sinyangwe scoring the other goal.

Roan are tenth on the table with 10 points from 9 matches played.

  1. Please continue updating us with division one results which other medias have failed, also try to give us the standings.

  2. I was at the ground and what happened was very sad. Zambia Police Officer were providing security for the entire first of the game. But towards half time, Officers went to provide security on the other side of the stadium near the score board where they arrested two jerabos. It was at this point that all the jerabos who where in the ground (Grand stand) went to the officers demanding to release their friends. In midst of the confusions between the officers and the thugs, officers unwillingly decided to release the two thugs. Few minutes later, we saw all the officers leaving the stadium at that point the match officials refused to officiate the other half.

I was wondering what has happened in our country how come theses thugs could be feared by the police officers like I witnessed…
