FAZ has disclosed that it made a loss from gate takings of Chipolopolo’s defeat to Mozambique in last Saturday 2019 AFCON Group K qualifier.
The loss of revenue can be attributed to apathy towards the senior team following the recent successes of the Zambia Under-20 team when they won the 2017 U20 AFCON hosts in Match and their quarterfinal milestone in South Korea at the just ended FIFA U20 World Cup.
“FAZ would like to take this opportunity to inform members of the general public that it has recorded a loss of K346,308.00 from the Africa Cup qualifier game between Zambia and Mozambique played on June 10 at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium,” FAZ media officer Desmond Katongo said.
“The Association generated a total income of K350,750.00 from the match against a total expenditure of K678,058. The loss in revenue has been attributed to a low turnout by fans. ”
