Share

Lusaka provincial leadership of Professional Teachers Union of Zambia (PROTUZ) chairperson Paul Chipimo has commended government for releasing funds toward repatriation, leave terminal benefits and areas for the teachers across the country.

Mr.Chipimo says his Association is impressed that despite having limited resources , government through the ministry of Education has decided to release the much awaited funds for the many retired teachers in the country.

“Despite the funding not being enough, it is important to mention that the path taken by government is a positive move, ” he said.

ZANIS reports that Mr. Chipimo said this in a statement in Lusaka, today.

He has however appealed to government to continue releasing the retirement packages in the shortest possible time to ensure that other retired teachers on the waiting list are paid their dues in the country.

He further urged the teachers in Lusaka province who may not be paid the allowances to remain calm as government continues to address the matter.
