The Zambia Revenue Authority-ZRA has assured transporters and Clearing Agents at Chirundu boarder post of improved service.

Speaking when he addressed clearing agent, who last week presented to him a petition over alleged poor service delivery by officers at the boarder, ZRA Commissioner General Kingsley Chanda says agents should give his office time to study the petition so that answers can be provided.

Mr. Chanda says his office is committed to improving the working climate of ZRA so that transporters stop spending hours before being cleared.

He has urged the agents to remain calm and wait for the response from his office.

And Chirundu Clearing Association chairperson Brian Champo said ZRA should consider the matters of sanitation at the border and the hours transporters spend before being cleared.

He said property worth millions has been lost by different transporters due to spending long hours before being cleared.

Mr. Champo also asked the commissioner to consider extending operations hours so that more transporters can be cleared per day.
