  1. Some $397m airport that won’t justify itself of due to very low traffic. And then you award the contract to Avic Int’l that is building its African HQ’s in Nairobi ,Kenya rather than Lusaka.

    • Nonetheless, infrastructure development delivered. First Roads, now Airports.

Mmmmmm, I think we are missing a national Airline, …..NEXT.

      GO PF.

    • 1. Emphasize on those choncholiz to sub contract locals
      2. locals please dont sell the sub contracts back to choncholiz for a price of ford ranger.
      3. Let the choncholiz explain thier costing since we know the loan came from them

  2. There will always be naysayers. Do you know people who can never appreciate anything only because they are not the ones who have done it? They feel pain in the heart when they see someone else take the credit for an idea. UPND, this is a Zambian airport, not PF. Be happy for Zambia.

  3. IN THE FIRST PLACE CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR PRESIDENT FOR MAKING SURE THAT THE SIMON MWANSA KAPWEPWE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT COMES TO FRUITION. SECOND BUT NOT LAST THANKS TO ALL WELL MEANING ZAMBIANS FOR MAKING SURE THAT MOST OF THE PROJECTS TAKING PLACE IN ZAMBIA ARE DOING SO IN A PEACEFUL ZAMBIA BY THE ZAMBIAN PEOPLE FOR THE ZAMBIAN PEOPLE AND TO BE ENJOYED EVEN BY VISITORS TO THE COUNTRY. ZAMBIA CONNOT DEVELOP WITHOUT PEACE AND LOVE. HOWEVER, THIS AND THE KK PROJECTS MUST SIGNIFY MODERNISATION OF ALL THE TOWNS IN ZAMBIA. THIS IS SAID BECAUSE THE TWO PROJECTS WILL AFFECT EACH AND EVERY CORNER OF ZAMBIA ONCE THEIR CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION STAGES MANAGED WELL.

  4. Unplanned projects and no benefit and costs analysis. Do we really need this airport at the moment? I think this is a project for the future, say 2050,the current airports are sufficient given very few Zambians travel by air internally. What we need now is a dual carriage way , running from Livingstone to Solowezi and from Kapiri to Nakonde. Then a railway line from Kitwe to Solowezi. This is what should have been done in the first place before embarking on building some of the many roads in the country leading to nowhere. A road going to Sesheke or Muchinga as an example.

    • YOU MAY NOT NEED IT AS AN INDIVIDUAL. HOWEVER, MOST WELL MEANING ZAMBIANS NEED IT AND ARE VERY HAPPY ABOUT IT INCLUDING MYSELF.

    • @Alibaba! well said, can’t put it any better. These selfish id1ots in PF can’t even plan, all they think about is lining their pockets.

ALMOST OBVIOUSLY, AVIC WILL MANAGE THE CONSTRUCTION WELL. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES? MOST UNLIKELY. BUT, WITH THE WARNING FROM HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT OF ZAMBIA-ECL, LET’S SUPOSE THEY DO. FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE YOUTH MAINLY ENGINEERING UNIVERSITY STUDENTS MUST BE ATTACHED TO THIS PROJECT RIGHT FROM THE WORD GO THROUGH SANDWICH PROGRAMMES. WITH CHINA TRAIN COMPANIES, OUR GOVERNMENT MUST START PLANNING FOR STATE-OF-THE-ART (MODERN) RAIL NETWORKS AROUND THE TWO AIRPORTS, IMMEDIATELY. SMK AIRPORT SHOULD HAVE A NETWORK CONNECTING TO SOLWEZI, CHINGOLA, CHILILABOMBWE, MUFULIRA, KITWE, NDOLA AND KAPIRI TOWNS. WHILE KK AIRPORT SHOULD HAVE A NETWORK CONNECTING TO LUANGWA (FEIRA), CHONGWE, CHISAMBA, KABWE, ETC. THESE PROJECTS WILL HAVE NUMEROUS RIPPLE EFFECTS IN THE…

  6. from@5 THESE PROJECTS WILL HAVE NUMEROUS RIPPLE EFFECTS IN THE ECONOMIC SECTORS.

SECONDLY, BUT NOT LEAST- ZAMBIA SIMPLY NEEDS AN AIRLINE AND WE MUST TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FRANCE’S PROMISE TO USE AIRBUS TO BEEF UP THE RESTARTED ZAMBIAN FLAG CARRIER. YES! FRANCE PROMISED ZAMBIA WHEN OUR PRESIDENT- ECL VISITED FRANCE TO NOT ONLY BEEF UP THE NEW AIRLINE BUT ALSO TRAIN THE ENGINEERS, PILOTS, AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS AND OTHER TECHNICAL AND CABIN CREW STAFF. WITH THESE FRANCE-SUPPORTED AIR ZAMBIA, THERE WILL BE AN AUTOMATIC INFLUX OF UNTRADITIONAL VISITORS TO ZAMBIA- THE FRENCH AND OTHER EUROPEAN COUNTRIES TO MENTION BUT A FEW. WITH THEM WILL COME REVENUE AND INCREASED TOURISM.

THE GOVERNMENT WITH CHINA THROUGH PPP IN ONE OF THE MFEZs MUST ALSO START PLANNING TO SET UP A TRAIN MANUFACTURING…

  7. from@6
THE GOVERNMENT WITH CHINA THROUGH PPP IN ONE OF THE MFEZs MUST ALSO START PLANNING TO SET UP A TRAIN MANUFACTURING PLANT FOR THE LOCAL TRAINS TRANSPORT INDUSTRY AND EXPORT TO NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES AND BEYOND, OTHERWISE KENYA WILL DO IT.

THE ENTERPRENEUER PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA MUST ALSO START TO REPOSITION THEMSELVES FOR BIGGER THINGS, YET, TO COME.
