UPND President Hakainde Hichilema leaving the court

United Party for National Development (UPND) Incarcerated  leader Hakainde Hichilema says Zambia does not need guns or mighty men and women in physical appearance for it to cross to its expected economic freedom.

Mr Hichilema said the country instead needs men and women of hearty and sound understanding.

He said the country needs men and women whose central focus and preoccupation is to improve lives of the citizens and not men and women whose dream is to prove a point that they own guns.

The UPND President said Zambia needs men and women whose vision is to create an enabling business and economic emancipation environment where people will trade freely without fear of being arrested the next minute.

Mr Hichilema has since called on Zambians to remain strong and keep an eye on those determined to suppress their wishes.

He said in a statement posted on his official Facebook page today shortly after appearing in court in which he has sued Religious Minister Godfridah Sumaili.

“We wish to let you know that the matter in which we have sued the Minister of Religious Affairs, Godfridah Sumaili has been adjourned to 26th July, 2017.

However, we know of interest to you is the treason charge we are facing as it borders on our freedom,” he said.

He added, “We wish to state here that no date for trial has been set yet and as such we remain in prison as accused persons, yes just like you, we believe that justice delayed is Justice denied, however, our appeal to you is that remain steady and watchful for its darker before dawn. But it is our sincere hope that you are doing well out there even amidst social and economic challenges and now the current political situation.”

“Ours is to advocate for strong and independent institutions that are able to defend citizens regardless of their political affiliations.”

He said, “To cure our country’s economy and political divides one does not need an AK47 gun but one working with others only needs concerted efforts, hard work and clear vision, one also needs to have the interest of the people and not select few, one needs to associate with right thinking members of society and not those that want to dictate what the people should hear, eat and so on.”

Thugs will not understand you dear HH. You are at too high a level for them to grasp what you are saying. They have no capacity and are beyond redemption. We are praying for HH and may God visit your oppressors who are busy stealing from the poor.

Is HH allowed to use the internet at Chimbokaila or is someone within UPND posting these messages on his Facebook page?

As the old chestnut goes ‘When you are in a hole stop digging ” but UPND continues not only to keep digging but to use a backhoe.

He is now at Mukobeko Maximum. This case will drag on and on. This is simple punishment for HH. Imprisonment is not something you put on a CV. I feel sorry for this guy. Zambians should not reflect what we do to others. Life is a bi^ch…. one day we may be in the same position.

And some people are traversing the world telling lies that Zambia is abusing human rights when we are the only country in Africa if not the world were freedom of speech reaches even prisoners. It’s only in Zambia were prisoners can access their Facebook and post articles. If this not true democracy then what is it?

Just a small correction underfive Donkey: We need both men/women of vision, and guns to ensure that the vision and hardwork of poor Zambians is preserved and not torched.

That is the problem with HH. He is the only Zambian who talks horror. One day is amagedons the other day is guns. Even if I want to believe he is not behind the arson and terrorists activities happening right now, he makes it more difficult for me to believe that every minute. Associating with GBM and the other Malawian-William Banda also leaves me shocked. HH would have done better without GBV and William. What advice can one get from william and GBV? ” Goal to Kuomboka and compares balls with Lungu”. Mulinganya mapulii…..

Looks like the vision of underfive was to get locked up. Thereafter he is lost what to do next.

Adjournments are disgustingly the order of the day in Zambia. Mostly due to incompetence, lack of respect for process, structure or an understanding of the need for speedy justice. It is also due to political interference and fear to take responsibility by ruling truthfully. There are thousands of people at any given time in Zambia who have never been convicted but languish for years in prisons without trial. A lot of them with no voice or avenue to make their plight known. Yet we have Zambians masquerading as the know it all who without shame support this state of affairs – as they eat with the equally heartless PF politicians.

No from UpDn donkeys and their lawyers preliminary issues are the order of the day. Your semi god spent 46 days in prison because his lawyers kept on raising preliminary issue after preliminary issue. How come all his lawyers are Tongas?

Let us face the facts-HH is a very good businessman but a very clueless politician. The problem we have in Zambia is that some people think that riches are synonymous with leadership. You can use crookedness to get rich but you cant use crookedness to have leadership qualities. That is the problem haunting HH.
