Big Tree Society (BTS) Chairperson Martin Kalunga has distanced his association from the recently reported land encroachment at Chikola Secondary School in the Copperbelt Province.

The Big Tree Society is an association for small scale miners based in Chingola District in the Copperbelt Province.

In a statement today, Mr. Kalunga said stated that irritated individuals involved in the land encroachment at Chikola Secondary School were alleged to be Big Tree Society Members when in fact not.

And the Big Tree Society Chairperson has since cautioned the members against getting involved in any acts which tend to bring the name of their association into ridicule and disrepute, adding that anyone of their members found wanting would be disciplined severely including expulsion from the cooperative.

Mr. Kalunga also noted that cooperative took a thorough inventory of their members and discovered that none of them participated in the infamous land encroachment at the school.

” I want distance my association from the recently reported land encroachment at Chikola Secondary School in the Copperbelt Province” Kalunga said.

  3. Is there any space to encroach at this school. On the North West it’s surrounded by the ZR railway line and staff houses. South is a major road between the school and Chikola township. Further to the south is the continuation of the railway line separating the school from Twatasha.Simply put there’s no land unless the football pitch has been taken over
