Zambia defeat Swaziland to advance in CHAN qualifiers

Zambia strolled past Swaziland with a 3-0 home win on Saturday at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka to advance to the final qualifying round of the 2018 CHAN qualifiers.

Justin Shonga and Brian Mwila continued their prolific form in Zambia shirts while Simon Silwimba scored his debut Zambia goal on the day that saw Chipolopolo advance 7-0 on aggregate and hand Wedson Nyirenda his debut home win in charge.

Zambia took a 2nd minute lead after Shonga chipped the ball over goalkeeper Sandile Ginindza.

Mwila made it 2-0 in the 41st minute after punishing Ginindza for a miscued clearance.

Silwimba put the game beyond reach two minutes deep into stoppage time of the first half when he powered his way past three defenders to beat Ginindza.

Zambia will play South Africa in August’s final qualifying stage after Bafana Bafana defeated Botswana 1-0 on the same date at home to advance 3-0 on aggregate.

Bafana will be at home in the first leg on August 12 and the final leg is set for August 19.

  1. Congrats to the senior team..i am appealing to FAZ to start selling the tickets early or even a before. Since they have introduced printing of names and cell numbers on tickets these matero thugs will not have it easy to forge the tickets.

  2. Swaziland is a weaker team we should not even boost over it let look for big names like Cameroon ,Ghana Egypt ivory cost
