Striker Walter Bwalya marked his return to the Nkana squad with a penalty miss as his side edged visitors Napsa Stars 1-0 in Kitwe on Saturday.

This was Bwalya’s first game since June when FAZ suspended him after Lusaka Dynamos questioned his eligibility to play in the Super League.

In this Week 22 match played at Nkana Stadium, the striker missed an opportunity to double Nkana’s lead when his 86th minute penalty was stopped by keeper Rabson Mucheleng’anga.

Referee Wisdom Chewe pointed to the spot after Napsa defender Alex Mwamba allegedly pulled down Bwalya in the box.

Earlier in the 52nd minute, Ronald Kampamba handed Nkana a lead with a solo effort before beating Muchelenganga in the Napsa goal post.

It was a game in which both teams wasted several chances in the first half.

Nkana keeper Moses Mapulanga had to deny Mathews Maleka, Collins Sikombe and Austin Banda imminent goals.

Jacob Ngulube, Bwalya and Sate Sate had equally missed opportunities to put Nkana in front before the half time break.

Meanwhile, Nkana’s first win in three matches pushed them to 35 points after 22 matches played.
