First Lady Esther commends Huawei for providing computers to rural based schools

First Lady Esther Lungu has commended Huawei Zambia limited for supplementing government’s efforts in providing computers to rural based schools in the country..

Mrs. Lungu says the equipping of schools with computers is essential in enhancing the use of ICT in the education sector for further development in the country.

The First Lady has implored learning institutions to embrace the use of ICT in there school curriculum.

Mrs. Lungu said this when she received 50 computers, 50 desks and 50 chairs donated to the Esther Lungu Foundation Trust by Huawei technologies at State House, today.

She stressed that ICT education is a significant driver to the country’s development.

The First lady has urged the business community to partner with the Esther Lungu Foundation Trust in complimenting government’s effort in the provision of ICT in the education sector.

She appealed to teachers to closely monitor pupil’s activities on the computers so as to avoid the miss uses of internet.

And speaking earlier Huawei Zambia Managing Director Thomas Hu pledged to continue supporting government in increasing access to ICT in the country.

Mr Hu said the donation is part of the company’s policy of giving back to the community.

Esther Lungu Foundation Trust for being transparent in the distribution of the previous 100 computers donated to the foundation.

  2. corporate social responsibility is not a deal.. How is that you only have an eye for evil? Kamulumba or shut up you have too much negative energy it can light up a bulb
