I am fed up with corruption allegations against me, so let the Anti- Corruption Commission (ACC) investigate me, says Lands and Natural Resources Minister Jean Kapata.
Ms. Kapata said she was ready to be investigated and if found wanting, the law must take its course.
In an interview with the Daily Nation, Ms Kapata said it was unfair that so many people had accused President Edgar Lungu, his ministers and government officials of corruption without proving their allegations.
She said she was ready for the probe to clear her name.
Ms Kapata also called on former and current ministers as well as other Government officials to open their doors to the ACC and allow the commission to investigate them for the sake of peace and unity.
Ms Kapata said corruption allegations were being used against ministers to brainwash the public and create a perception that the Patriotic Front Government was corrupt.
Ms Kapata called on all financial institutions to institute investigations into allegations that she had a bank account in China.
“I am ready to be probed starting from my account, as purported in some social media sections that I have an account in China. Once the findings are made, they should be made public because I have never been to China since 2013.
She said, she would not allow people to continue issuing defamatory statements because her name had already been tarnished.
Ms Kapata however appealed to PF members to continue delivering to people’s expectation and not to be derailed by people who were against development.
She has challenged people alleging to have evidence such as expelled PF Roan lawmaker, Chishimba Kambwili to render assistance to the ACC by providing evidence against her.
She has also challenged all former ministers to help the ACC arrest the people they accuse of corruption in government.
Just resign….. there is no smoke without fire.
If you are allergic to allegations, then be allergic to corruption – resign from this corrupt PF government. That’s what principled people do.

Jean, when we way, you are corrupt, we mean, you, the whole of you, and not just you. In PF you breathe the drink corruption. That is a fact.
Its the secrecy in doing things that make people conclude and shout corruption. For instance, You mama are on record banning the Mukula trade, however after trucks were intercepted, thats when the public got to hear of the involvement of ZAFFICO in the whole process. There was no prior communication or direction from the minister, what else do you want the public to do or think? You have left those gaps in information dissemination and the public have filled the void with whatever ‘logical’ explanation that comes about. The entire PF needs to learn on keeping the nation informed instead of the secrecy trend currently going on. If you are falling to inform the nation then obviously you have got something to hide and thats corruption!
This is why we have been advocating that build YOU MUST build Independent and Credible Institutions, especially the Police, ACC, DEC, ECZ and the Judiciary. It is times like these , that such institutions can protect you madam or anybody else.
But here is the problem, NOBODY trusts the Police, ACC, DEC, ECZ and the Judiciary. Even if you are truly innocent and the ACC finds you Innocent, your critics WILL NOT BELIEVE IT and THAT IS A BIG BIG PROBLEM PF need to fix. I must say that the President has realised this and stopped the selection of Judges to be appointed and that is a first step, but it needs to be baked IN the Constitution because IF Kambwil or HH become presidents they will put their tribesmen in such powerful positions.
You have the numbers in Parliament, focus on that , make this happen, make Police, ACC, ECZ, DEC and Judiciary answerable to independent bodies and give them tenure assurance. Asking ACC to investigate you now is really laughable and a waste of time because NONE of your critics will believe their findings, whether true or fake.

Dear Jean this is a good first move on your part. The second part is for you to allow the process to be transparent. So ask the president to let you to step down for the concerned organs to thoroughly probe. He can reappoint you once you have a clean bill of health. He can give the team a deadline of 2/3 months to complete their investigation run a personal audit on all your incomes,assets and liabilities against your personal earnings and see if they add up and above all see if your off-shore accounts are indeed unquestioned but you must step aside so you can answer all questions without being distracted by your ministerial functions. You were a good nurse be a good citizen as well.

Jean, the PF that you joined, that of Micheal Chilufya Sata, is no longer the PF that you are now in, that of Edgar Lungu. The two have drifted apart. PF has drifted away from the party it once was. Those still in PF, let alone those who have since left, must have to acknowledge this ugly reality. If PF under Michael Sata was, at all, considered bad, this one, under Edgar Lungu is indigestible. We mean well, when we say, “just resign.”

Jean, do I need to tell you? No, I don’t. The truth is that, which I believe you already know, the ACC, except for the name they go by, is no longer the ACC. Otherwise, how would you explain the unprecedented rise in corruption under the PF government? Please respond. Are you not being too smart to appeal to the toothless ACC to come and probe you on corruption? Are you not trying to get them issue you a Certificate of Innocence, when innocence is hardly the adjective that describes you, nor indeed describe any of the other politicians within the PF government?

Within three and undercover of total darkness, you auction Mukula, find a buyer, organize transporters and start exporting. Just last night Znbc news reported that some trucks carrying Mukula logs have been impounded some have been intercepted at Beitbridge border near Musina R.S.A and are being brought back to Zambia.You may wounder how many trucks have escaped the dragnet how many Mukula logs by now have gone on ship to China? Accusing innocent persons is outright criminal. A former PF Minister has resorted to creating a smoke screen to cover up his own misdeeds within the PF and as Govt Minister. The same former Minister closely interacted with the Jerabos who terrorised motorists in the Copperbelt. The ACC must rise up to clean their Institution by, say, being proactive to probe a Building Construction Co. that built a flimsy and papery student residential building at Mwekera College of Forestry. Otherwise Zambians may conclude that the ACC has been compromised by rich Zambians who are members of the Cartel.
