Kitwe United suffer third loss

Kitwe United suffered their third loss of the 2018 FAZ Super Division season after succumbing to a 1-0 loss to Forest Rangers on Sunday at Garden Park Stadium in Kitwe.

Striker Laurent Muma scored a 78th minute goal as Forest edged Kitwe to jump from 10th to seventh position on the table with 17 points after playing 10 matches.

Muma’s strike was deflected into the net after hitting a Kitwe defender in the box with keeper Lameck Siame completely beaten.

Chingalika will rue several chances wasted in both halves of this Week 10 match which they dominated in front of their hostile home supporters.

Kitwe top strikers Lyson Sikaonga and Austin Muwowo were the major culprits in missing opportunities.

Muwowo sent his 3rd minute header just over the bar with Sikaonga poorly heading a cross off target from inside the box few minutes later.

Nine minutes into the game, Forest had Damiano Kola’s goal ruled out for offside by referee Milton Mweemba.

Meanwhile, promoted side Kitwe remains on 13 points after playing 10 matches.

  1. Fact is newly promoted teams find premier league very though. Division 1 league is not very competitive hence we need to go back to old system or these teams have to go for playoff. Other wise we will continue having mediocre teams like kabwe youth and swallows

  2. Let me give you advice ba Kitwe United. Bring back Lawrence Mweemba AKA big Jim. You are not going anywhere.
