22 of the 32 PF Councillors from Lusaka have endorsed Mpulungu Ward 23 Councillor, Christopher Shakafuswa to stand as mayoral candidate for the Patriotic Front and have since petitioned the Party Central Committee to consider the criteria of experience, someone sellable and would not be learning again for the next 2 years.
The 22 councillors have stated that the people of Lusaka deserve a candidate who has requisite experience in the running of the Council and one who would work well with both the Party and Government in delivering services. The PF Councillors said a sellable candidate should be one who is people-friendly like Mr. Shakafuswa as he has unshakably stood by the ideals and principles of the party and will prioritise service delivery.
In the petition submitted to the party Secretary general yesterday, the 22 Councillors have assured the party that they have gotten to know each other best and developed a working culture that should not be broken by introducing a new mayor who will have to learn the job for the next 2 years and that councillor Shakafuswa is he uniting factor whom they are ready to work with.
Christopher Shakafuswa has been Lusaka City Councillor for 8 years and has chaired various standing Committees of the Council which include Finance, Human Resource and Audit.
Christopher Shakafuswa had in 2016 applied to contest the 2016 mayoral elections but came second during PF intra party selection, and was later the party’s candidate of choice for the Deputy Mayor until the confusion that saw both Tasila Lungu and Christopher Shakafuswa standing down to pave way for the current Lusaka Deputy Mayor.
UPND is going to endorse Mwaliteta or some other weird person. Just you watch kikikiki.
He organised this whole thing and approached the councillors whilst costing him a bit of change to float him.
I hope his plan backfires spectacularly.

If the man has been endorsed by 22/32 councilors,then i believe he is the most sailable candidate bcoz campain wil easily be done by the same councilors,hence it wil be a walkover by pf.
This Shakatan junior is a criminal like his father Shakasatan senior. They stole from constituency of Katuba to fund drinking, prositution etc. Shakasatan senior was voted out as MP of Katuba because of his corruption. There majority of people in Lenje land will warn you about these two criminals!

We have got intelligent, vibrant, sharp, educated, strategic guys who can do better such as Miles Sampa, and Balaam Mwila, not that joke of a guy.In the first place why was he not preferred when he first applied as a Mayor in 2016? Shakasatan’s father Shakasatan senior was a drinking partner of President Lungu. They go in and out of State House as they please. How can criminals have access to the President. Shakasatan boosts that he is a senior advisor to the president. A criminal with a resume of corruption advising the President!
Hope these people ready coz if he is adopted he has to resign and when he resign he can’t stand upto the time his term comes to an end. So he may loose even what he has at the moment

Charles at 1.2 read the criteria ward names in Lusaka. To enlighten you Mpulungu ward is in Lusaka, just you have Kalomo road in Chilenje does not mean Kalomo road is town of Kalomo on way to Livingstone. Check your facts before you comment.

This man is a criminal. As an investigative journalist I have interviewed several people in Katuba who testify that this man is corrupt! He stole from Katuba constituency with his father. I witnessed the celebration party held by the Shakafuswa’s when the former late MP for Katuba died. There is a rumor that Shakafuswa paid a man called Bronson to poison the late MP’s food. There was chanting at the death celebration that they used the late MP’s nephew to kill me.
Shakafusha cannot win PF Lusaka city.Like Mushota said above,this guy forced his fellow councillors to endorse him and that is nonsense!!
PF must talk to Mrs Maureen Mwanawasa who has left UPND to stand on PF since she is in very good terms with President Edgar Lungu or PF can adopt Miles Sampa!!!Nobody can defeat Maureen Mwanawasa or Miles Sampa if one of them stood on PF ticket!!

I will only vote for Mr Elias Mpondela again like, together with about 6000+ other people voted in the 2016 Lusaka Mayoral election because i believe he is the One with the vision which can transform Lusaka from a shambolic capital city it is today into a marvelous city to attain its rightful place as a Capital of Zambia. Most ,if not all, those names being floated for this position are just politically correct individuals without a real plan for Lusaka as a City. God bless you all, Good night fellows…
