Ailing Napsa Stars fire Chikwanda

Ailing Napsa Stars have fired coach Elijah Chikwanda after just 13 games at the helm.

Chikwanda leaves the job after replacing Linos Makwaza in early April who was fired after picking up just one point from his opening five games of the 2018 season.

Chikwanda departs after collecting just one win and four draws from his 13 games with Napsa.

Also out at Naspa is assistant coach Sipho Mumbi and technical adviser Levy Chabala who joined them six games ago in May after dumping debutants Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy.

Interestingly, KYSA, the club Chabala left last month, are just above second from bottom Napsa at number 18 on 12 and 10 points respectively.

Meanwhile, Napsa Stars board chairperson Zingani Phiri said the club will announce the new bench shortly as they navigate their worst start since ending their 12-year FAZ Super Division hiatus in 2012.

  1. There is more to the cause of poor performance at NAPSA than the coaches. 3 coaches in less than 2 year? The root cause definitely lies with the Administration. Coaches may just be sacrificial lambs.

  2. Napsa must take an introspection. First, the executive fired coach Makwaza , then the Napsa company mgt dissolved the executive. Now, this new executive’s first ack is to fire the “new” coach before they are also dissolved. Desperate times indeed call for desperate measures.
