Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo says campaigning for Miles Sampa for the Lusaka Mayoral election is proving to be easy because he is a sellable candidate.
Mr Lusambo who is also Deputy Campaign Manager for Mr. Sampa said the PF candidate has a proven track record of active community work.
He said Mr. Sampa is the only one who was capable of delivering according to the expectations of Lusaka residents.
Mr Lusambo said the other eight candidates for the Mayoral position are just jokers.
He was speaking when he distributed some campaign flyers for Mr Sampa along the Great East road in Lusaka on Saturday.
“We have nine candidates participating in the Lusaka Mayoral elections but we have only one candidate who is capable of delivering on the expectations of the people of Lusaka,” Mr Lusambo said.
He said Lusaka is such an important city to be given to dramatists, actors and songstresses.
Mr Lusambo also castigated NDC candidate Saboi Imboela who has repeated her intentions to reintroduce street vending if she is elected Mayor.
The Lusaka Province Minister said Ms. Imboela is just a dreamer who is still dreaming about composing choruses for her music.
“People should not just come and say ‘I will reintroduce street vending’ because we as government have decided to ban street vending through an IS because we have the powers to remove all vendors from the streets as government). But because you just want to excite people and tell them what their ears want to hear, that is why she is talking about reintroducing street vending she doesn’t have the powers to do so. In the Council, there are 32 PF councilors and Imbolea does not have any councilor. So who does she think is going to support her proposal to bring back vendors?” Mr Lusambo asked.
