The Supreme Court has slapped the Felix Mutati led MMD faction with costs amounting to K2.5 million following the dismissal of their appeal against the lower court’s decision to declare Dr Nevers Mumba as the legitimate leader of the former ruling party.

This is contained in the long awaited written judgment following the verbal one delivered on 10th April,2018 by the Supreme Court sitting in Kabwe.

In their written judgment obtained by Q-News, Supreme Court Justices Evans Hamaundu,Mumba Malila and Jane Kabuku dismissed the appeal by the Mutati group as an abuse of the court process.

The court has since ordered that the matter pending in the High Court on the holding of the convention without authority by the Mutati group must proceed forthwith.

Meanwhile the High Court has set Monday, 16th July as the date for setting trial dates in the matter.

And MMD acting Spokesperson Cephas Mukuka says it’s now a moment of truth for Mr Mutati and his claims about the MMD.

  1. This guy is an imposter – he shouldnt have been given position in government – with such people around one would justify Kambili’s rantings.
He is a set back himself..

    • That is the right bench that should be sitting in the ConCourt to end all the sh.i.t and rot that is going on there.

  2. What are people fighting for in the tortoise shell (MMD). This party is like street children fighting over an empty tin.

  3. @HaChilyata, The “Sh..t” you claim to see is actually from the underwear of Childish! But because your lenses are tented with Hatribes United Football Club, sorry Monze Swallows Football Club, you cannot see clearly you think it is from the hard-working government!

  4. Very selfish man. He is a minister in our party and again he wants to be a president in MMD. Are you telling you been fair with your so called MMD party that we kicked out of power.

  5. But justice in zambia is very expensive. At this rate who is going to afford to go to court even for clarification.

  6. Again the courts of Zambia have set a great precedence. Today we are praising them. Tomorrow someone will be insulting them. Zambia is progressing wonderfully.

  7. Thats tge problem of failing to follow rules of the game . Its just selfishness that has made Felix to be found in such predicament. Politica of the berry at work.

  8. Uuhhm, certainly sets a good ptevedent, so what was the bill for h.h abusing the court process? Or what will be the bill?

  9. Arsonists including Stephen Katuka are free to answer me. Even jj, since we now know who he is…..kikikikikikiki….no more than a upnd plant on LT, now exposed.

  10. At 6 remember that one of three government roles is issues of contracts and property laws have to be followed .
Those found wanting must pay the costs to gvt. It’s also way of revenue for gvt, so Mutati’s group must pay.
