FAZ Super Division demotion dogfight heats up

Share

The relegation dogfight in the FAZ Super Division heats up on Saturday on the penultimate day of the 2018 campaign.

With Monze Swallows, Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy (KYSA) and Nchanga Rangers all demoted with less than three games before the close of the season, four more clubs are battling for their lives to avoid collecting the last ticket to Division 1.

Napsa Stars, Lumwana Radiants, Nakambala Leopards and National Assembly are all in action and playing some very awkward fixtures.

Seventh place Assembly , who occupy the final demotion position on 36 points, are home at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka and must beat second from bottom Nchanga to ensure they take their battle for survival to the final day.

Furthermore, Assembly are one point behind Nakambala who in turn visit Lumwana who just above them at number 15 on 38 points.

But the pressure is more on Nakambala heading into that away date against Lumwana.

Nakambala are the worst performing relegation-battling team with four successive defeats.

Meanwhile, 14th placed Napsa , who are on 39 points, host third from bottom KYSA at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka knowing a home win for them, and a draw between Lumwana and Nakambala, will ensure they stay up for a sixth successive season.
