The second Italy-Africa Ministerial Conference has convened today in the Italian Capital Rome signifying Zambia’s commitment to strengthening the partnership with other African countries.

The annual conference represents the highest level framework of the renewed, strengthened cooperation between Italy and Africa which was launched in the first Italy-Africa Conference in May 2016.

Zambia is being represented by Minister of Works and Supply Felix Mutati who is a delegation leader and is also accompanied by Zambia’s Ambassador to Italy Joseph Katema among others.

The high level Ministerial conference is being graced by President of Italy Sergio Mattarella and is structured on three major topics of great importance for the relationship between Italy and African.

Mr. Mutati is one of the top discussants that will explore, share knowledge and insights on shared economic growth.

The other area of discussion is political stability and security which is looking at the African response to global and local issues and threats.

This is contained in statement made available to ZANIS today by Ministry of Works and Supply Public Relations Officer Ndubi Mvula.

  1. Why have an African Ministerial conference in Italy? These African leaders are Goons and idi0ts! with f00lish agenda and mentality, How can Africa develop and ever believe in itself? Africa yalisebana!

    • @Analyser – You have no analytical skills other than insulting people with alternative opinions from your shallow ones. I pity people like you. You will always wallow in poverty and insults.

@Anonymous – Thank you for being a gentleman

    • These Ministers are locusts! Nubia is the new Mushota!
On the analytical front, these ministers should be meeting in Tunduma, Nakonde, Kigali, Luanda, Durban, Windhoek, Beira, Chipata, Freetown, Accra, Lubumbashi, Harare, Mombasa, St Louis, Antananarivo or some war-torn area on the continent. How can we have faith in our own structures if we are quick to dash to othet so-called developed countries to go and drink coffee there. Then again it’s Mutati you are talking about here, some purported MMD president with one foot in PF.

    • In fact this conference can be held either in Africa or Italy. so there is nothing wrong with it being held in Rome. Uppermost on Italian minds in my view is “the tragedy in the Mediterranean” where mainly African immigrants are risking all to try and cross the Mediterranean sea in order to get to Europe. It has led most of us to come to know Lampedusa, the small Italian island where most immigrants end up, that is those who make it. This illegal immigration has poisoned Italian politics and led to fringe parties getting into government. Italians know the danger of having such parties into govt. Yours is failed analysis because it is un-informed despite the fact we live in the age of 24/7 satellite news broadcasts.

  2. Stupidity of the highest order….they just hear conference and they jump on a plane..these countries just group them together like sheep or one country!!

  3. @Nubia I apologise for my bad language against you. I was just having a bad hour. I sincerely apologise. You are a good woman, just like my mother! Let’s restore the good sense of debate that has been prevalent on this forum, of which you have been a great contributor. You might have just strayed in my firing line, wrong place at the wrong time. Again find space in your heart to forgive me, please.
EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO A RANT OR TWO, TIME TO TIME.

  4. I know that Italy is currently under pressure by the European Union to fix their ailing economy so this makes me wonder if they are genuinely committed to a win-win partnership with Africa? Or is it the case of the Knight pushing the pawn forward in order to stay in the regiment?

  5. Italy -Africa ministerial conference after all those China- Africa,Japan & Africa ,India & Africa ,USA & Africa conferences? Easy to tell who’s boss here -Italy has a GDP of $2..2tr and all of Africa is $2.7tr.
