Home Affairs Minister Hon. Stephen Kampyongo
Home Affairs Minister Hon. Stephen Kampyongo

Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo has described allegations that he engineered violence during the 2015 Presidential Election Campaign in Shiwang’andu District as false and baseless.

Mr. Kampyongo says at the time the incident was happening, he was elsewhere within his constituency campaigning for the PF Presidential Candidate Edgar Lungu.

He also refuted allegations that he used a GRZ vehicle for campaigns.

Mr. Kampyongo was speaking when he appeared during a special sitting by the Commission of Inquiry into Voting Patterns and Electoral Violence in Kafue.

Meanwhile, UPND Deputy Secretary General in charge of political affairs Patrick Mucheleka said the public media has contributed largely to regional and tribal voting patterns and electoral violence due to unbalanced coverage.

And Commission of Inquiry into Voting Patterns and Electoral Violence Chairperson Justice Munalula Lisimba has described the special sitting as progressive.

Justice Lisimba has since thanked the people who were invited to appear before the commission for responding positively.

    • Kampyongo a guy with no tertiary education, a former money changer on Katondo street is now Zambia’s Minister of Home Affairs, epitome on PF mediocrity under Edgar ( a failed lawyer who was disbarred by LAZ for stealing from a widow)

    • This is another useless kandilemo venture by the PF.

    • LUNGU is safe because we don’t jail Presidents in Zambia, it’s a long expensive and time-wasting process. It’s Kampyongo, Jean Kapata, Richard Sakala and Max Chungu who will go inside.

  1. “Justice Lisimba has since thanked the people who were invited to appear before the commission for responding positively.”

We join you in acknowledging them.

  2. A certain new comer in upendi exacerbated hatred against a certain region in Zambias.

Let him go back to znbc and tell the Zambian people why he said that

  3. Iwe Mucheleka, when it comes to unbalanced coverage both public and private media are culprits. Do you think what happens at prime tv, especially Kalani Muchima and that dirty guy, is ‘balanced’?

    • Leave the private media alone. They raise their own money. As for the public media, every one of us pays for their broadcasting out of taxes and the levy, that is why everyone is supposed to be given coverage. If the PF wants to be covered alone they should set up their own PF propaganda station and pay for its operations.

  5. Investigate the riggging and xenophobic attacks in the SP imwe. Don’t beat about the shrubs and bushes.
Investigate the harrasing of ECZ trucks by the UPNDEADs.
Investigate the hijacking of ballot boxes by the Deads is you want to get to the bottom of things.

  6. Commissions of inquiries under PF NEVER produce any results. Waste of time all the time just to make a few pipo get money in their pockets. They will never conclude, they’ll continue putting money in their pockets.

  7. What is the purpose and mandate of this commission? Does it have legal powers to summon one to appear before it or one appears voluntarily? Sounds like an unusual platform in the Zambian context

  9. I believe this commission is ANOTHER GIMMICK by P.F. to woodwink the Zambian people and the opposition to think that ECZ is embarking on electoral reforms before 2021, while they are busy planning and geared to steal the 2021 elections by rigging through this same compromised ECZ, an extension or organ of P.F.
This tribunal will not achieve its objectives as long as the judiciary remains questionable too

  10. It is so sad that clowns like this should hold responsible office in the land and hope that our country is on the right trajectory for development. What does a clown like this one have to offer to develop this country, when his first priority is to steal??? A true reflection of the calibre of the appointing authority. Fruit does not fall far from the tree!

  11. Of course he can refuse, surely can he agree? He is only human like Peter who denied knowing who Jesus was, denying him three times even when they had been together at the Last Supper. Even if he did those atrocious political machinations against the opposition, he will deny it and hide the term “it is alleged.” He will ask for proof with a grin on his face. And other interested groups will just rely on the adage “every dog has its day.”
    just saying…

  12. Never knew he was a money changer on Katongo street. Might have done some business with him back then. So is he the one responsible for the depreciation of the kwacha so that he can get more for his dollars?
