Kay Figo warned and cautioned over indecent pictures

Share

Police in Lusaka have warned and cautioned Cynthia Bwalya a musician popularly known as Kay Figo of Woodlands for the Offence of Prohibition of pornography which is contrary to section 102 (a) of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act number 21 2009.

Police last week summoned Kay Figo for questioning over her revealing photo that caused a social media storm.

The image shows Figo in a sitting position, legs wide open, no underwear but only a strategically-placed hand covering her lady parts.

Figo posted the photo on her Facebook page on Thursday as a promo for the new music video for her single ‘Taken’ which was released on the very day.

Zambia Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said investigations in the matter have continued.

  1. These are some of the most stupid and archaic laws on our books. A woman should be free to dress as she pleases. If she were male, would they harass him for a similar dressing? Why are we so misogynistic, sexist and down right hateful?

    • Changed your name from blessed soul to cursed soul. We can’t toralate demonic propaganda on social media.Even if it will catching one out of million, WE will deal with that Agent of Satan.

    • Let us apply the same standard by arresting the women folk that show off they greats in traditional dress at the N’cwala ceremony. I mean Equity in the eyes of the Law requires the exact same standard to be applied to all, we can’t just say oh that is a different matter, no let’s be fair. Before bazungu came here our ancestors used to run around naked.

    • You mean as undressed as she pleases. This is not mini skirt or leggings. This is showing things. The question is should we allow nudity? I for one am open to that discussion, but let’s not hide behind this gender nonsense. As a woman I prefer my things decent, but I guess others should be free to do what they like within the law, and if we want freedom of nudity then let us just say it instead of hiding behind gender, which is clearly not the issue here.

    • A woman in USA a former Miss Kentucky has been charged for the same offense so what is so archaic about this law. Don’t just oppose for the sake of opposing. Such pictures are likely to corrupt morals especially if young children stumble on them. Who knows one of those children could be yours.

    • You are right. Democracy and Christianity dont go together. Christianity is too narrowminded for Democracy’s entrenched freedoms

  2. Cops don`t have anything to do…. useless PFoools police good for nothing just like that Kangaroo court

    • Those of you who support this Nude Mussician photo, take a moment, because what this woman exposed is what women in your homes have. Now supposed it was your Mother, your wife, your sister and your daughter, would you support her and praise her? That woman has exposed what your relatives cover, so don’t only support her but tell your wife and sisters and daughters to emulate her then we shall ask Chainama hospital to spare bed space for your family.

  3. ok imagine Adam and Eve didnt fall we would still be walking around naked? I think it would be a wonderful sight. Police would probably wear hats and boots but no cloths.

  4. So what was wrong in those lousy pictures worth raising dust about – nothing. The woman is neither sexy nor pretty. Its like the police are really bored in Zambia with nothing to do.
    Disaster

    • This is not about whether public nudity is right or wrong. This is about what the law says. Going after the cops won’t change the laws. If you want nudity you have to address the legislature. I agree that it is too much fuss over nothing, but legal procedure must be followed.

  5. The strategically-placed hand covered her “lady part” very well we could not see anything. What about the Miss Zambia beauties who pose in bikinis, is that not indecent exposure?

  6. Join me in starting a campaign to make Freedom Sikazwe Presidential candidate in 2026, the man is always smiling and I think he would lift the mood of the president. We need to first convince ECL to make him his running mate 2021 with the idea he takes over in 2026.

    • There’s so many *****s that smile all the time, should we make them president?
Your criteria for choosing a president is far fetched.

  7. I only saw a Lady seated. Those who are offended are the wrong ones. They are just Imagining what the actual picture did not show

  8. If you are not famous or popular the only thing you can for to have that desired popularity is to undress or send nude photos. They are Zodwa copycats. No strategy, the so called musicians.

    • Sometimes it’s their managers who encourage this. Madonna took nude pictures when she was 19. Tshala Muana showed her goods at Kora awards in South Africa. I am not saying this is the case here, though.

  9. this is the problem with female atists ,they think that by showing off their anotomies to the general populous will gain them fame.( i don’t mean all female atists but a good number )
