First lady of the Republic of Zambia, Mrs. Esther Lungu has encouraged a 15 year old girl who gave birth to a Christmas baby yesterday morning to go back to school as quickly and expeditiously as possible stating that without education, she would confine herself and her child to a life of habitual poverty.
The First Lady stated that when girls got an education, they were better able to take care of their families and even get married properly in a respectful and dignified manner.
The 15 year girl who is among the 13 mothers that gave birth to Christmas babies at UTH this morning stated that she went to school at Chimwemwe primary and that her intention was resume her studies and that she would rely on her family to help her take care of the child whilst she went back to school.

The First Lady Mrs Esther Lungu Visited the Levy Mwanawasa Hospital this morning, where she presented 6 hampers to the Christmas babies born there yesterday morning before proceeding to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) to Present hampers to the Christmas babies born at the facility this morning.
She was in the Company of Health Minister, Hon. Dr. Chitalu Chilufya and his Wife Dr. Mutinta Mudenda.
Others were, the Permanent Secretary for administration at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Kennedy Malama and Medical Women Association of Zambia President, Dr. Sharon Kapembwa.
The Father of that Child should take responsibility of that Child.

This is insane! Go back to school and that’s it? Are you going to set up a bursary for her to finish school? Are you going to pay for her school education? Who will take care of her baby? What have you done in terms of getting the father to pay and take care of the child? These First Ladies are a joke sometimes!!
