The big Copperbelt derby 2019 Charity Shield final will be played at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.
Barclays Cup winners and 2018 FAZ Super Division champions Zesco United will meet for the fifth time in the Charity Shield final at the end of January.
“The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) wishes to inform the public that the 2019 Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield final between Nkana Football Club and Zesco United Football Club will be held in Kitwe at Arthur Davies stadium on January 26, 2019,” FAZ spokesperson Desmond Katongo said.
“This is expected to be a clash of the titans because of the rivalry that currently exists between the two Copperbelt giants.
“It is also an important fixture for the clubs and the Association as it symbolizes the beginning of the 2019 transitional league season.”
This will be the second successive Charity Shield final meeting between the two sides after Nkana defeated Zesco 4-3 in last March’s final played at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
It will be the two side’s fifth Charity Shield final meeting in nine years with Zesco winning three out of their last four showdowns.
This will also be the first time the final will return to Arthur Davies since 2014 when Nkana beat Red Arrows 3-1.
