Government to help citizens create wealth by fully embracing Digital Technology-Dora Siliya

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dora Siliya says Zambia is determined to create employment through the use of digital migration technology.

Ms. Siliya who is also Chief Government Spokesperson says Government will help its citizens to create wealth by fully embracing Digital Technology.

Speaking when she toured the Multichoice Africa facility in Randburg, South Africa Ms. Siliya says the use of local content in Television was cardinal in ensuring that citizens remain engaged with the government.

She says government is happy with the support that Multichoice group of companies has rendered to Zambia by providing a platform on which Zambian content was being broadcast.

Ms. Siliya noted that the opening up of Zambezi channel on the Multichoice platform has given Zambia chance to showcase its talent through popular local soaps such as Mpali and Zuba among others.

And Multichoice group chief Executive officer Calvo Mawela says Zambia has been an important market for its growth and further expressed happiness for governments support rendered.

Mr. Mawela pledged his Company’s Support in ensuring that Zambia attains its digital migration goals.

This is according to a statement issued to the media by First Secretary for Press and Public Relations at the Zambian High Commission in South Africa, Naomi Nyawali.

Creating wealth through Digital Migration Process when you have short changed taxpayers with a $250 million overpriced migration process…how can you claim to create wealth by fully embracing Digital Technology when you are letting and profiting from the highest Multi-choice subscriptions in Africa.

  3. Empty words…..ask any Zambian content producers how expensive it is to get hosted on the Chinese controlled star times digital multiplex which is supposed to be Zambia but is controlled by the Chinese…

    Lungu you have sold Zambia….
