President Edgar Lungu says there is need to unlock the socio economic potential on the Copperbelt Province.

The President says the Copperbelt Province has great potential to contribute to the socio economic growth of the country if well harnessed.

He has noted that the region is a vibrant area and he is hopeful that something different will come out from the investment exposition that is taking place in the area.

The Head of State said this at ZAF Airport Base this morning shortly before leaving for the Copperbelt Province to officially launch the Copperbelt Province Investment Exposition.

President Lungu noted that even though experiences have been different from the investment expositions that have so far been held in other provinces, the results have been desirable.

He said the results for such events depends on the efforts invested in them by individual managers, as well as the provincial administration.

The Copperbelt Investment Expo is running from the 24th of June to 28th of June, 2019 in Ndola under the theme “Broadening the Copperbelt Economy through diversified Investment”.

Meanwhile, PF Secretary General Davies Mwila is in Mwinilunga district of North Western Province to receive hundreds of defectors including headmen from the opposition UPND, MMD and FDD.

Accompanied by members of the Central Committee Annie Kayula, Kebby Mbewe, Eastern Provincial Chairperson Andrew Lubusha and the Deputy Media Director Antonio Mwanza, Mr. Mwila has been received in North Western by the ruling party’s Provincial Chairperson Jackson Kungu and his committee.

And upon arrival in Mwinilunga, the PF Chief Executive Officer will proceed to pay a courtesy call on Chief Kanongesha were he will reassure the traditional leader of government and the ruling party’s commitment to work with traditional leaders in delivering development to the people.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mwila is tomorrow morning scheduled to address the party structures including ward and branch officials in Nchanga constituency of Chingola district on the Copperbelt before addressing the residents on radio.

Among the pertinent issues on the Copperbelt, the Secretary General is expected to reecho the ruling party’s position on the ongoing developments in the mining sector and future plans.

On Friday morning, June 28, Mr. Mwila is scheduled to hold a meeting with Kwacha Constituency officials particularly the Lubwa ward committee concerning the upcoming by-election.

And Mr. Mwila will on Friday evening officiate at the PF Kitwe Women’s League Dinner Dance at Moba Hotel in Kitwe.

  1. The whole Zambia has potential. On Monday Alexander Chikwanda wrote how the Netherlands , land mass less than Luapula Province has GDP= SA + Nigeria. The biggest problem Zambia has is Mr.Edgar Lungu, he has no vision and lacks leadership qualities. Just look at Rwanda and Botswana. We are better endowed than those countries

    • Akalyashi akapamataako … Zambia has potential, epo twatampile ukulanda fimofine zo’ona. Muleiba ati Zambia has potential? mulifibuba nangu chaba shani kanshi?

    • The Copperbelt already contributed to the growth of Zambia, Zimbabwe and England. It is tired now. That’s why they are now focusing on producing new dances and funny songs

    • Copperbelt Province has great potential to contribute. . Who doesnt know that? And you reporters make this a headline? We are all tired of talking about our potential. We want action. Re pair the infra0structure on te copperbelt dont just fix Lusaka

    • He meant to say the Copperbelt has votes for 2021! They can even vote for CK`s NDC in Roan. How troublesome!

    • Why not a fertiliser plant to encourage farming and boost production as opposed to another town Mr President?

  2. Its a matter of deep concern, that a country can have a president, who needs to be told everything!!!!???? ???? ???? ????

    • Look at that photo…he is not even ashamed that he has made more statements on the tarmac that at State House…the man is thick as two short planks!!

    • JAY JAY
Yes, mind you he is the president.
He has constant schedules on his diary, unlike you who has the whole time in the world just to spill bitterness on lusakatimes from sunset to midnight and back again.

Oooh.. Are we waiting for HH to win presidential elections so that we can be given political jobs. That wait will take a another 5 decades. Really “LAUGHABLE” as your saying goes every day..

  3. “The Head of State said this at ZAF Airport Base this morning shortly before leaving for the Copperbelt Province to officially launch the Copperbelt Province Investment Exposition.”

Now the trips have already reached 5 going to CB just this month…mind you yesterday he was in Zimbabwe, before that Central Province, before that Rwanda…all he does is make silly statement on airport tarmacs. We can not continue with this mediocrity

    • Don you know what a “busy foooool” is? Go on look it up …I am not funded by the taxpayer I support myself and my investments support me from my own sweat…you linking me to Hakiande simply shows that you have not leg to stand on when engaging people you disagree with. This man has been away in the last 10 days …when the economy is going down even the wasteful decision for Sales Tax has been deferred to July yet there he is on the tarmac again.

    • He has no vision he is talking about Copperbelt as if he just got elected today …he is there talking about CB having great potential to contribute to social economic growth as if it doesn’t. He will go to CB and read the usual speeches about economic diversification from mining yet his govt invested zero from the loans obtained.

  4. I feel for the new Press Aide having to work with such a lazy moron…the engine of the Gulf Jet doesn’t even cool down he is off to Central Province we all know he is going to campaign …Friday he will rush somewhere again for 2 day working visit…this man is utterly lazy …a lazy bone!!

    • JAY JAY

Better, you feel for you and your life. The new Press Aid will be fine, working and enjoying his life. Get rid of that Anger, Bitterness that is killing you. Frankly, I think you need Prayers or Professional Help… Pheeeeeewwww !!!!

    • Every year energized naive Bloggers like you come and go calling us bitter, jealous etc until reality…you realize that our fight is not with you but we are fighting for the betterment of our country. Its impossible for you to see the bigger picture!!

    • JAY JAY

You dont fight the noble agenda with Bitterness, Insults and so forth. You fight with words of Courage, Inspirations and a point of correction. I have read your blog’s for some time, trying to grasp you.

The only thing that I find is that there is no substance but Anger, Bitterness and Falsehoods. Franky, you dont like being challenged. Anyone who opposes you, is a FOSSIL, F00L, DAFT, SILLY, STUP1D, ID1OT, … even stronger words than these.

You are a Bully, Self-centered and its always your way. You remind me of one, Arrogant, Dictator called Hakainde Hichilima or HH. He wonders why people keep rejecting him all the time.

    • These are thieves without a vision only thing they see is lining their pockets … did I not say that borrowing for consumption and overpriced projects was unsustainable, did I not say Sale Tax was ill-thought out system because PF are not prudent enough to manage VAT?…if you want was of encouragement and false inspiration go to BR JUNIOR not me…the more you keep mentioning Hakiande the more I assume that you are new to LT.. you must be one of these PF sponsored minister’s children enjoying US universities at the expense of your colleagues suffering at CBU. Challenge me with substance not nonsensical about being jealous and bitter I mean how can I be jealous of mediocrity…really laughable…PF govt is getting $30m grant and $22m write off yet they wasted $30m in a pointless…

    • Dudelove – these small clowns are like those seasonal weeds in the rainy season who come on LT ..the Sharons, Zambian citizen etc

  5. How I dispise the word “POTENTIAL!”
It’s a word full of promise and yet is as empty as it can be!
What are the nitty gritties to look at to realize that dream called potential?

    • Son: what is the difference between potential and reality?
Dad: go ask you mum and sister if they would sleep with Will Smith for $1million
Son: mum would u sleep with Will Smith for $1millon?
Mum: yes son, but please don’t, tell you mother
Son: Sis, would you sleep with Will Smith for $1 million?
Sister: Yes of course, I would even do it for free.
Son goes back with the answers to his dad.
Dad: you see son, potentially we are sitting on $2million, but in reality , we have 2 b!tches in the house.

    • 6.1 Obatala

Is that from the UPND Manifesto. Your sense of humor is misplaced. What chance does HH have if he has FOOT SOLDIERS like you

SON: MUM WOULD U SLEEP WITH WILL SMITH FOR $1MILLON?
MUM: YES SON, BUT PLEASE DON’T, TELL YOU MOTHER***

THE SON IS ASKING THE MOTHER. AND THE MOTHER SAYS YES SON … BUT PLEASE DONT TELL YOUR MOTHER ***** AGAIN

IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PLEASE DONT TELL YOUR FATHER ****

PLEASE DON’T EVER TRY AND TAKE UP A CAREER IN STAND UP COMEDY. THEY WILL LAUGH AT YOU. CRACKED HEAD.

    • SOUL 2 SOUL – Everyone can see its a typo error..its laughable you see such mistakes but fail to see the myopia on full display on airport tarmacs !!

  6. Every time you keep talking about potential, tell us what you are doing to make us realize that potential.

    • Son: what is the difference between potential and reality?

  7. same s hit he does at the un reading stuff that he has no clue what is talking about. I feel so embarrassed as a Zambian
he says a lot but doesn’t say nothing because he’s clueless
wasting taxpayer’s money with trips that are unwarranted.
naimwe tuma reporters, why do you even bother asking him questions or going to the airport? let him go . you know he’s just gonna give half arsed answers
such a pain in you know where

    • He reads the same speeches all the time he doesnt remember as he is more interested in the flight….even in 2021 he will be talking about CB having potential when he is closing universities, he thinks economy will be managed by students from silly Prof. Luo’s Muchinga Trade School.

  8. The potential he is talking about is the slag dump sites and the idea of grabbing defaulting foreign mines…..

    lungu has no plan

  9. JAY is spot on in his assessment of the President.
The man has failed and I don’t blame him.
He is just not gifted for that office!

  10. I’m waiting for Jay Jay ,Soul 2 Soul and Obatala to advise on issues based to uplift Zambian economy.Guys rock in the way that will make all bloggers take sense of your contribution, personaly I know is wrong and right I take my rest here.

    • Like someone above has stated CB has developed Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, UK ….and you have a President here talking nonsense in his 4th year as Head of State talking about it having potential like he has just woken up from a hang over…you wonder what he does in State House. Surely can you advise such a person or his govt?
