The Drug Enforcement Commission has arrested a Lusaka lawyer and a Radiation Therapy Technologist for forgery and uttering a forged document.
Kennedy Mambwe, 39, a lawyer from a known law firm, has been arrested and jointly charged with Joseph Kabwe Mofu a Radiation Therapy Technologist at a known hospital for forgery and uttering a forged document to DEC officers.
Kennedy Mambwe is the lawyer representing Mr Walid El Nahas of Intelligent Mobility Solution recently arrested by the Commission for corrupt practices with public officers.
Particulars of the offence are that Kennedy Mambwe jointly and whilst acting together with Joseph Kabwe Mofu and other persons unknown, on dates unknown but between 19th and 21st December, 2019 forged and uttered a recommendation letter purporting that it was written by a doctor at a named hospital for Mr Walid El Nahas to seek specialized treatment abroad when in fact not.
The suspects are on Police bond and are expected to appear in court soon.
This is contained in a statement issued to the media by DEC Public Relations Officer Theresa Katongo.

Kudos to DEC. U hv made my day today. Build up this case well. Where in Zambia has this Nahas been accessing medical attention? Wht’s in his medical records? Any evidence of absenteeism from work due to ill-health? We can stop our country being a laughing stock.
Hungry Lawyers in Zambia are everywhere and Lungu stole his client’s money when he was masquerading as a Lawyer…cheap crooks…People work hard and Lawyers think they can just steal
And not only that we have prominent lawyers in this country who disregard court orders. Very sad state of affairs!
Reminds me of an old story involving a poor lawyer’s funeral arrangements. When one man was asked for a K500 contribution towards the lawyer’s burial, he smiled sarcastically and offered instead K5,000 to bury another nine lawyers …
When bad goes to worse…Iam sure the Radiation guy was trying to sort out Jan worry pressure. This is sad. We all find ourselves in this predicament and its not a good thing especially when caught. Intergrity comes with a reasonable food busket although its debatable in our Zambia coz guys in government cant get enough of tuma deals. am sure he even told his wife he is waiting for ka something to hit the account

I would be happy if they arrested Cadre Tutwa Ngulube, the boy is irritating.
DEC go to passport office. There is loads of work there for you. Those govt workers openly solicit for bribes.
So in other words the lawyer was helping his client to escape by facilitating for him to fly abroad on the pretext of medical treatment then never coming back. Even the bail for the accused must be revoked since it is proved that he is a flight risk.
A prominent Lusaka lawyer died the day of the Indonesian tsunami. When he arrived at the Heavenly Gates, there were long waiting lines but the Arch Angel Gabriel called out, Mulenga Kapumpha, it’s your turn!
