I have not been paid to support Bill 10-Wynter Kabimba

Share

Rainbow party leader Wynter Kabimba says he wants the Constitutional amendment bill number 10 to be enacted.

Mr Kabimba says bill 10 goes beyond partisan affiliations and should be supported as he dispelled media reports that he has been paid to support the bill saying there should be respect for those holding divergent views.

Speaking when he featured on pan African radio Monday morning, Mr. Kabimba further said he hopes bill 10 will pass as it will create a legal framework for women and youth participation in governance issues apart from addressing many other constitutional issues.

“I want Bill 10 to be enacted. I will tell them the plane has already reached Kabwe and it cannot come back, you were late at the airport” Mr. Kabimba said when asked how he would respond if he was justice minister to those calling for the withdrawal of the Bill.

He explained that currently there is no legal framework to support youth and women adoption in various political parties and urged lawmakers to look beyond the constituencies of people who support them but also embrace divergent views.

“We are coming from a background where political parties promote male chauvinism, let’s accept it and we are also coming from a background where women are not supported by their spouses to get into parliament,” Mr. Kabimba said adding that this is the kind of political and social culture which bill 10 is trying to cure saying if that is put into the constitution it will force political parties to adopt different representatives.

He has therefore encouraged for healthy debates that are sober and devoid of insults in order to debate on principle whether someone opposes or supports any particular agenda

  2. You don’t need to be paid to support what is right sir. That is called wisdom, which many of the dullards in the tribal party and diaspora are lacking. Kz

  3. Kabimba is just broke and knowing him very well, he has been paid handsomely! No sensible lawyer, if he is still a lawyer, would give a blind eye to the damage which Bill 10 will cause to Democracy and the constitution. Imagine leaving the Treasury to Lungu to decide when to borrow, or when to create provinces, etc.
Little benefits or sweeteners from Bill 10 are overwhelmingly outweighed by the damage this Bill will do to our economy and to Democracy.
Kabimba is a dull lawyer, a very dull lawyer and people see how hungry he has become, leave him alone because he is a Toxic guy which even PF could tolerate.

  4. Wynter Kabimba ought to tangle wth fellow lawyers on this matter and not laypersons such as journalists. And the media aren’t doing us a favour. They hv John Sangwa and Wynter Kabimba on opposite sides of the debate on Bill 10. Good journalists would see a newsworthy opportunity to make it possible for the two to square up with each other on the airwaves. Because Zambian journalism’s such a disappointment, we won’t hv such an opportunity. It’s such a shame.

  5. The Voice of Reason: The issue is technical and I don’t want to proffer any opinion on this matter. I want lawyers to lead the debate. And no one is dull because they agree or disagree wth me. I hv not even bothered to read Bill 10 but I take the position of lawyers I trust.

  6. Kabimba is not a lawyer if we were to make comparison with Sangwa. You can stop sangwa from practicing but he will not run broke. Kabimba with only few years put of power he’s eating with dictators.

  7. Unfortunately the PF and UPND have turned all national matters into partisan politics. Whatever your opinion they’ll classify it as being with the other side, the best we do is to get rid of these 2 evils. Jack Mwiimbu receives a salary and allowances like a Cabinet Minister and he agrees to some PF decisions but he pretends like he doesn’t. We can’t have a country like this

  8. In my case I don’t know why this bill 10 is still being debate. Its should have passed long time ago. At this time, if we are going to make 2021, we should be finalizing party conventions, voter registration etc. And full gear campaigns. This is history every party in power plays with constitution. Chiluba did it & excluded KK. He nearly did it for a 3rd term, which Sata championed & you fell in love with Sata for it ,& rewarded him state house also. So get over bill 10.

  9. BILL 10, BILL 10, BILL 10, BILL 10. WHEN ARE WE GOING TO HAVE A NICE SLEEP WITHOUT WOKING UP ONLY TO BE GREETED BY BILL 10. BILL 10 HAS FAILED TO GO THROUGH IN PARLIAMENT, FORGET ABOUT IT, IT’S DEAD, DEAD DEAD DEAD NO ONE NEEDS IT BECOUSE EVEN THE WAY IT STARTED IT DID NOT START WITH THE POEPLE, IT STARTED WITH PF ALONE AND THEY THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE IMPOSED ON US LIKE A HOT KNIFE CUTING THROUGH BUTTER SMOOTHLY WITHOUT LEAVING A MARK. WOW, IT WAS NOT EASY THOUGH, ITS DEAD BECAUSE PEOPLE NOW ARE LEARNT TO THE CORE. LETS FORGET ABOUT BILL 10 AND HAVE A NICE SLEEP AND WHEN WE WAKE UP IN THE MORNING LETS THINK OF 2021 ELECTIONS SO WE DO WHAT MALAWIANS HAVE DONE TO VOTE FOR NEW GOVERNMENT WHO WILL NOT BRING DEAD THINGS BACK TO LIFE LIKE BILL 10.

  10. Ba kabimba is like a paper boat in the sea. Blown by the wind so far away with no shore in sight.

  11. This country it’s not for women or men Alone but for every Zambian. My concern is, on these small boys government is leaving behind without education because all we have been hearing is ” supporting girl child, women empowerment, women participation in government issues” and I have never heard supporting both girl and boy organization. This has made many of small boys dropping out of school and engaging in smoking chamba etc. Therefore, instead of concentrating on pushing Bill 10, put more effort on economic problems and fight against corruption because this bill will never change anything! moreover, challenges we are going through. Let’s stick to our Constitution that we have now and never make bills that will afflict us in future.

  12. There we go again. This criminal is talking now. he is talking malabisi eka eka. This man is a danger to our society

  13. Bill 10 Masushi yeka yeka!
Do not use the Constitution as a political tool! As for Summer, he is as unstable as water! He’ll follow anything!

  14. Kabinda should tells us the Wrongs and Rights of Bill 10? Our Constitution was amended in 2016 and 4 years later what are the compelling reasons to extensively amend it? Instead of dealing with Lacunas the PF Govt seeks to wholesale amend the Constitution to entrench their stay in Power. Kabinda is supporting Bill 10 for personal and selfish reasons. There is nothing good in Bill 10. Its all PF poisoned chalice. All progressive and patriotic MPs should reject Bill 10 without any hesitation. Besides Bill 10 is no more becoz it lapsed on June 4, 202. There is no law or Rule which allows the PF Govt to retable an expired Bill in Parliament.Period.

  15. This is a chap who knew Sata had very advanced Carcinoma Cancer leading to catastrophic dementia but they allowed a clearly senile person to continue running the country by proxy of Chikwanda, Kaseba, M’Membe and Kabimba himself. It was such good riddance when the Bisa/Bemba gang purged this red lipped snake out of power. Now today he wants to tell people such nonsense to accept a nonsesical Bill, wena Kabimba u kanamunungu kamutu.

  16. Why do people even give Wynter Kabimba – leader of the nashala neka party – a platform? the man is broke so him and Chilfya Tayali will sing praises for a few pieces of gold. They have sold their souls to the devil.

  17. Winter Kabimba made noticeable mistakes while in the Patriotic Front. But if he drifted to UPND after being hounded out of PF, he would be a dependable celebrated hero. He is presently showered these insults because he is on the opposite side of Hakainde Hichilema’s political fence. Democracy is choice in numbers without duress. All you people with foul language and hate speech ought to be reminded of this.

  18. Bill 10 is a good document worth debating as it doesn’t have only one issue on it, it has diverse issues so you can’t just trash it that is being ignorant and and selfish. Most of these politicians are so greedy that they are only focused on themselves ignoring the general public.
1: bill 10 : wants to include the disabled people in parliament to talk about what concerns them.
I believe it is fare to have them represented in parliament.
    2. Bill 10 : wants the youths to be represented in parliament and have their voice heard
That is what every progressive Zambian would like to see.
3 : Bill 10 : wants women to be equally represented in parliament on equal basis with their male counterparts.
That is good also women need to be encouraged to do politics un hindered by…

  19. Mr Kabimba mishandled himself when he was almost the likely successor, that dent can never go away if now he becomes a PF vuvuzela when every one else is against Cahseluka and are envying chakwera

  20. Zambia doesn’t only belong to these politicians every Zambian must have chance to govern in their own way of representations you don’t over look what affect others let them have their own platform to be heard, but as of now it is about those shouting slogans who are championing everything as they beat down every small voice that is in oblivion , I mean the disabled people who are all over the country no one speaks for them.
The Bible says he who gives to the poor lends to God, God is more interested in those people you ignore to listen to but only want to use them for your greedy acts.
Bill 10 is trying to bring sanity to this calamitous situation we find ourselves in, don’t throw away bill 10 .
It will be evil to just ignore it as I have said above the vulnerable are…

  21. So while Makebi Zulu is following proceedings blindly (like the Trump-sucking journos of the US Fox News), Kabimba is shrewdly hoping Bill 10 will benefit him if he were to ascend to the presidency. God forbid, I should add.

  22. Wynter Kabimba is not broke. But he’s a politician whose political career is going nowhere at present. He leads a party which is supposed to be socialist, as does Fred M’membe. Why’s it that the two aren’t in one political party?
