I have noticed that the Luapula and Western ward bye-elections have sparked debate on social media on who is more popular than the other. Firstly, the PF cannot use these election results as a measure of their popularity. It’s a cheap way of thinking. These elections are not a good litmus paper for the PF. It is wrong for them to conclude that they are doing well and that 2021 will be a walkover.
It’s like fighting with someone when you know that you have put poison in his water to weaken him for your advantage. For instance, the PF has been spending very huge sums of money in almost every election. Just in Chienge, I saw more than ten 4 ×4 vehicles without number plates, queuing people up to give them bribes.
It’s like giving money to a girl who doesn’t love you to accept your proposal no matter how ugly you look. I am sure In their hearts the PF knows that they are using house money car principles to buy votes. Winning bye-elections by the incumbent Government is not new in Zambia, we saw it in the MMD between 2009 and 2010. That time everyone believed that MMD was popular and kept winning. It seems history is about to repeat itself.
The UPND and the PF have been in existence for more than 18 years. NDC has only been in existence for 3 years but still able to compete in an election evenly. Let me analyze these elections for someone struggling to pick something out of them. First and foremost, I want you to know that the PF is worried that their so-called strongholds are under siege by the opposition. UPND never used to gun such numbers in Luapula, but today its a totally different ball game. There is a serious drop in terms of support for the PF.
When a party in Government starts using money and material things in their perceived strongholds, then their days are numbered. In Zambia, leaders use the money to prolong their stay in power like any other African countries. Winning elections while in Government has a psychological benefit to show that they are still loved and popular when in fact not. You will notice a series of bye-elections in the western province, the reason is simple, there is hunger which the PF has taken advantage of. Things are very clear that their former strongholds have been infiltrated by the opposition especially the; Northen block, Copperbelt and Lusaka. The PF members are gripped in terrible fear of losing the 2021 elections.
I do not want to comment on the Alliance because people have judged for themselves, otherwise, our focus as a party is to grow our base everywhere. The NDC is a very strategic party with a lot of advantages for next year’s tripartite elections. Underate the NDC at your own peril.

PLEASE BE HONEST. EVERY POLITICAL PARTY THAT WENT INTO THESE BY ELECTIONS WENT THERE TO WIN BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE POPULAR. THE PF GOT THE BIGGER CHUNK AND LETS CONGRATULATE THEM. LETS DO BETTER NEXT TIME. PERIOD. THE DECISION WHETHER TO USE THE OUTCOME OF THOSE BY ELECTION AS A MEASURE OF THE POPULARITY OF PF SHOULD BE LEFT TO PF ALONE. THEY HAVE ENOUGH ANALYSTS TO ANALYSE THEIR PERFORMANCE ON THEIR OWN. DONT THINK THEY ARE BLIND TO THE FACT THAT NOT MANY PEOPLE TURN UP FOR BY ELECTIONS. THEY ARE FULLY AWARE THAT MMD WHICH USED TO ENJOY SUCH VICTORIES SUFFERED LOSS AT THE END. AFTER ALL THEY WERE ALSO IN THE SAME MMD. SO DONT BE CHEATED. THEY ARE STUDYING THE SITUATION AS WELL.
And upnd can use their losses since the 90s as evidence that they will win 2021? Do you see how f.u.c.k.i.ng f.o.o.l.i.sh some of you sound? When upnd win a by election we congratulate them and go back to drawing board to know whetr we went wrong. We then come back and win those same seats in their strongholds like we just did. Grow up upnd

Temporary artificial victory for PF is victory. Give Zambians freedom of expression, freedom of movement, assembly and free and fair election environment will lead to irredeemable death of PF.

That’s the problem with our opposition, instead of focusing on telling the population their alternative policies and ideas, they spend all their time talking about PF and Edgar Lungu. 2021, the electorate will choose the group who are showing them tangible things, not social media gymnastics. We have twits for opposition in Zed.
That is a good analysis however, we need to understand that when the people are capable of distinguishing genuine help we need not fear who displays more wealth. We saw a similar behavior by the MMD government and they were still overthrown. The same can happen even next year.

Haha, Kaizer Zulu Zambia’s richest ranked at number 3 ahead of Mantani. Now we understand why he is so paranoid about UPND and HH in particular winning 2021. Because he will have to explain how much tax has been paying ZRA, source of his riches – what does he produce or sale (gold, land, arms, rigged elections, …). It sounds strange for such a rich man be still stuck to a civil service job. Let’s hope he is not running his business on govt expense – transport, phones, printers, time etc.

Now on a serious note, Zambians are FREE to vote for WHOEVER….Its called DEMOCRACY. If the playing field is not level, then the opposition has to fight for it to be level…If they cant do that then they lose their legitimacy as opposition. NDC should first come up with a manifesto and Mr. Kambwili should stop running NDC from his pocket. His party has no manifesto for that very simple reason. Much as he wants to compare himself to the late Michael Sata, he comes nowhere near in terms of organisational skills. He needs to up his game or just go back to PF. I am saying so because I have worked with CK.

Spot on, KZ. This is a notion widely supported by the West and its surrogates-African opposition. That’s why Asia and China is far ahead of Africa-they respect their leaders and frown on the west. Africans especially the diasporan donkeys are so colonised they believe only a muzungu or foreigner can develop their continent. They are so exposed to high level technologies but can’t translate them to the local Africa context because they are useless mental slaves. History will remember you as a genuine African political mind, KZ. It will always remember Spaka as a white bottom cleaner!!!

Sichula as a true Upnd, your focus should be winning elections whether pf is cheating themselves or not, just focus on what you are do to win elections. You will be disputing pfs hullucination after August 2021 and by then they would have extended their stay in power. Wake up boy and do your homework.
