United Party for National Development (UPND) National Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa has charged that Opposition Forum for Democracy and Development President Edith Nawakwi is becoming a nuisance and needs to be tamed before she sets this country on fire with for what he described as her insatiable hatred for the party’s President Hakainde Hichilema,”
Reacting to the pressing briefing held by Ms Nawakwi, Mr Mweetwa said that the FDD leader’s quest for political relevance has made her become insane and called on Zambians not to take her seriously.
“All I know is that Nawakwi is making noise. She has abandoned her cause which gave her political relevance. After she lost her funding, she became disgruntled. I think the people of Zambia should stop listening to Nawakwi. I suspect that in the night, she wakes up and says, “HH where are you?” stressed Mweetwa.
Addressing the media briefing in Choma yesterday Mr Mweetwa has advised the Hatembo family to report Nawakwi to the police for abduction.
“How many lies does she want to peddle against HH. I think the people of Zambia should stop listening to her. What does it take for her to realize that the nation has lost interest in all her utterances? As a leader, she has a public responsibility to conduct public affairs in a manner that does not mislead the citizens because of personal gain,” he advised.
Yesterday Ms Nawakwi warned that UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema risks being arrested on the day he will be filling in his nominations should he keep avoiding facing the law in the case he is alleged to have abducted the Hatembos, a family at the centre of the Kalomo farm he is alleged to have fraudulently acquired.
Ms Nawakwi said that Mr Hichilema was lying to himself by thinking the case involving the abduction of the Hatembos and other cases he is involved in will die a natural death.
Ms Nawakwi who has alleged that Mr Hichilema has been running away from the country from the time she reported him to the police said the UPND leader is avoiding facing the law by abducting the Hatembos.
Address her allegations instead of making threats. No one is above the law. Let justice take its course. The people of Zambia have taken note of what she’s said. Let it be addressed as it would to the least of us. The Bible says do not show partiality in Justice. Especially partiality of the rich over the poor.

Mweetwa further needs to prove his allegations of having been offered bribes, he made the allegation, the people he accused challenged him to give evidence.

HH must come out in the open on this. He threatened Nawakwi with $3,000, 000. Nawakwi is not scared and has kept on and on and on. It is HH who has gone into hiding and now using VUVUZELAs to speak for him. Is there something he is scared of? If he is going to be the president he needs to come out now and tell us his story.
We urge madam Nawakwi to continue piling the pressure on HH till he tells us the truth. HH does not need attorneys like Mweetwa to speak for him. Unless, as we are being told, HH is unwell. If Nawakwi has joined PF then let her dish out Money to buy Votes for ECL just like the VEEP was recently doing in Solwezi. The Hatembo story is very clear and straight forward. Some people here who seem confused or not knowing whats going on are either lazy and dont want to know the truth or just plain stupi.d. The Hatembos from day one have told the nation that its Nawakwi who pursued them, promised them that they had a case against HH. When the whole thing fell through, the Hatembos didnt want anything to do with the case. They have been saying the same story for months now, yet some people act dumb. Maybe because they are speaking Ci Tonga, that’s why no one cares.

Mr Mweetwa would do well not to get down to Nawakwi’s level of doing things where you can just utter a slew of unsubstantiated, disrespectful comments. That is exactly what Nawakwi and PF want. They want to keep the narrative at the komboni – heresay level. When you get down in the mud to wrestle, no-one can distinguish who the really dirty one is. If he feels he must respond to Ms Nawakwi’s outbursts (I personally think there is no need as the matter is already in a court of law), he should do so in a methodical and respectful manner, tackling any pertinent issues raised. Show us the alternative way of doing things that you are courting our votes for.
Nawakwi has a Right to join PF and Campaign for it in this Election Season. It is not Nawakwi’s place to decide who should or shouldn’t contest the 2021 Presidential Elections. Even a friend of mine from egypt thinks HH is the current president of zambia coz the man is too popular on most of zambias online platforms.
