Powerful forces pushing Zambia into instability-Wina

Share

Vice President, Inonge Wina, says there are powerful forces that are pushing the country into instability but the government will not allow that to happen.

Mrs. Wina said this could be seen from the escalating cases of political violence that has filled the political space in the recent past.

Speaking when she met the members of the clergy in Kabwe today, Mrs. Wina challenged Christians and political party leaders to help stop the escalating cases of political violence in the country ahead of the August 21 presidential and general elections.

She said the fight against political violence should be a responsibility of everyone especially the clergy, in order to save the youths from destruction.

“We felt it was important to meet with you and hear from you on issues of the church development and development of Kabwe. It is up to you pastors to share ideas that will stop the political violence and propel the country to development after the elections,” she said.

And speaking to members of the Kabwe Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Mrs. Wina said there was no country in the world that can develop without partnering with the private sector.

The Vice President said government was there to create an enabling environment for businesses to flourish while jobs are created by the private sector.

“Therefore, the government depends on the private sector for job creation while it creates an enabling environment for sustainable business prospects,” Mrs. Wina said.

She observed that Kabwe is strategically located and KCCI could easily transition into a trade leader in the region.

Meanwhile, Patriotic Front (PF) running mate, Nkandu Luo, said the clergy has a bigger voice to condemn political violence in the country.

Prof. Luo said Zambia would not want to see citizens fleeing the country as refugees as a result of violence.

She thanked President Edgar Lungu for again nominating a woman for the running mate position which she said has given leverage to women.

She also paid tribute to Mrs. Wina for serving the country with integrity and transparency saying this has given dignity to the female-folk.

Prof. Luo has observed that the PF led government has done a lot in the last ten years, adding that the infrastructure development is the benchmark of any sustainable development.

Prof. Luo said the 2021-2026 PF manifesto empowers the people to be in charge of their resources and gives them hope through an effective education sector, health care services and commerce, trading and industry.

And Central Province Chairperson for the Clergy, Hector Sinyangwe, said the church is concerned about the high youth unemployment in Kabwe district.

Bishop Sinyangwe said the government should woo credible investors to invest in the various sectors of the economy in order to address the challenge of unemployment especially among the youths.

“We are concerned as a church with the levels of unemployment and we would want the government to woo credible investors that will turn around the economy and create jobs,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kabwe Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) president, Christabel Ngongola-REINKE, said it was the desire of the trade body to see industries like Kabwe Industrial Fabrication Company (KIFCO) being revitalized.

Fear mongering: someone who intentionally tries to make people afraid of something when this is not necessary or reasonable.

“We have nothing to fear but fear itself.”

  8. Veep Wina should just retire from Politics. The best she can do b4 retiring from Politics in August 2021 is to dtell her arrogant Boss to withdraw the PF Military Wing Commanders from the Streets and Townships. PF Cadres, Militias and Vigilantes have been perpetrating violence against Opposition Supporters. PF Cadres are the Culprits who have been provoking Other Parties by blocking them to Campaign. Praying on its own doesn’t provide a Solution. PF must stop provoking Opposition Parties and daring them to a fight. PF must repent if they truly want free, fair and credible Elections in Zambia in August 2021. Madam Wina is mocking God and will his wrath shortly. The writing is on the wall.

  9. In what capacity is Nkandu Luo following the vice President everywhere she goes? The party and government are two different things.
This is campaign time, please stop using public resources for campaigning.

  10. These kind Report from incumbent at this time of election is uncalled for.

Why did you have to wait until now, to let the nation know.

  11. Madam Wine if you are an honest person tell us who gassed our brothers and sisters simple. Stop fooling us, violence did not start yesterday. Your time is up, in other words time for nonsense is over!

  12. There seems to be very clear demarcations here of what is going on. This is clear from even the comments. Yet the truth is that yes there is violence and the powerful forces are not just PF and UPND but all who now thirst for power over the common Zambian. The political forces are not just jostling as to who can or will offer better leadership. This lie is laid bare by the willingness to do whatever it takes to get into Statehouse the seat of power in Zambia. Listening to opposition political leaders we hear mind boggling claims and to say the least miracles declared. All under the all out effort to take power so that selfish individuals can continue to loot and abuse the Nation. These forces have created a dangerous divide and use everything to champion their cause especially utterances…

  13. I think the word they are not getting is
    “IMPUNITY ”
chapwa see nothing wrong in anything they do but play blame game, it can be a very dangerous period in a relation, in this case PF and the people of Zambia

  14. Powerful forces are the Zambian voters.Nobody can force the Zambians to do
What they do not wish.It is imaginative to
    Think there is other forces.

  15. Yes powerful forces like the ones the clown sikazwe got from Kasama and Mbala to come and beat the peaceful UPND members campaigningin Mpulungu?
Just retire and enjoy your massion in Forest 27 for the next 60 days.
Thereafter you will be called to come and pick the rubble.

  17. UPND is huge online…and they don’t even vote…voters are on the ground and they don’t even have access to the internet….no wonder they keep losing elections

  18. PF – be careful with upnd,
They planned violence in your strongholds long time ago. Have you ever heard any violence in there stronghold such as Southern province? Bembas are never violent, and it’s a first time to hear such disturbing noise from Northern part, and this is because of upnd who have recruited thugs to scare your strongholds voters not to vote in large numbers. Take note that upnd have agreed not to campaign in South because votes there is assured because of the reasons you all know.

    4
    14
  19. At voting day ensure you deploy enough police officers or soldiers if need be in Southern province. The way they behaved in 2016 in the presence of police at voting day were unacceptable. They took advantage of few police officers who were deployed there.
Please PF/Edgar Lungu take my warning seriously these guys are crafty, and don’t understand Estimate them.

  20. MK do not worry my brother/sister. We know what these gorriIaz are like. That is why we funded the police well and bought hardcore equipment for them to deal with these thugs. Do not worry, innocent people will be hurt by these upnd thugs if it means me personally grabbing them by their small balls and squeezing them until they faint

  21. Sad, but true. There are evil forces who don’t want to see our people living together in unity, peace and harmony. However, good shall always prevail over bad even when bad seems to have an upper hand at the momment. In the end, good will carry the day. Mark my words.

    One Zambia, One Nation.

  23. @18 You’re right these killings appear premeditated that’s no ordinary political violence. My appeal to PF members countrywide is not to shy away from voting but vote in huge numbers and completetely deal with this brutal force that masquerades as a political party.

  24. The bembas say “U wawa ta bula ka bepesho” . Why is it that we never had such violence before the regime took office? Why are we not asking the right questions? I don’t support violence but the current government is somehow responsible for the violence and hatred that is prevailing in our nation. We must be honest with ourselves. And what happened to covid 19 regulations in Kabwe? The room is packed and it is ok for the VP to break the regulations? It is such double standards of application of the law that creates problems. Let’s not take people for granted. Now it is time to show the true leadership by honouring up on things we did not do well and beg people to forgive. Blaming others will not help at all. We are one Zambia one Nation One People.

  25. No shame from an 80 year old Grandma …there she is again with Luo who is enjoying the benefits of a full cabinet minister. I hope Veep’s accounts are made public after the elections to see who was paying for Luo so she pays back every Ngwee

    11
  26. These PF maggots amazes me, who started violence first?

PF cadres were or are more powerful than the police, you see your ka leader ka chakolwa ka kuChawama kalungusha efintu mu Zambia!

We told don’t empower the cadres more than the police. You keep a German shepherd at your own risk.

Infact it is not yet there wait the day of elections and the results will be announced Wina and your hubby Eddie will be in comma.

    PF must go!

  27. I stated this yesterday. Nkandu Luo following mama Inonge around as a pretext to campaign. There will also be several of these ‘interactions’ in the guise of government business when they are actually created opportunities to dispel political opponents who have been banned from campaigning. And then, there is this latest propagandist expression of ‘powerful forces’. Who are these, mama Inonge? She wants to portray that there are some abstract entities that ‘threaten the nation’. No, it’s only Zambians who are saying no more of your despicable Party and regime. There are no ghosts. Remember UNIP, when it’s time had come to pass, talking about the ‘enemy’? Everyone wondered who this ‘enemy’ was.

  28. Madilu system – Keeping German Shephard is not risky as they are the most loyal and disciplined dogs there is …that’s why they are used by security wings and the US Army.

  29. When those two innocent citizens were gunned down Lungu and PF blamed these “forces”only for some boy to be paraded as the shooter to date that case has gone cold, the same with the gassing and the market fires …its the same pattern…they are so predictable even a 5 year old child can see through them

Why is the opposition sleeping and not questioning this sudden interaction between Grandma Inonge and Luo…who is paying for Luo’s expenses? Is it taxpayers

  30. Very right. Its a shame that our clergy have become so foolish to sit and be lied to.
With the Zambia Intelligence,Zambia Police Intelligence the state can’t catch the Powerful Forces?
Government can easily snuff violence if it wanted.

  31. Reading between the lines, this force can not be local because the Zambian Army is capable of dealing with Mushala style forces. When you sow the seeds of division, you make it easy for these foreign harvesters to destabilise the country. Maybe we need to learn the hard way in Zambia.

  32. Rhetoric sentiments from PF. These tactics are used in propaganda countries like Uganda and Zimbabwe. As a person the day you start blaming others for your misfortunes is the day you will not prosper. It goes the same for a Country. if you do not concern yourself with blaming others and start looking at yourself in terms of the decisions and path you took then you are on your way up. Blaming so called ‘powerful forces’ is a sign of serious paranoia and shows a sign that these blamers are afraid of what they are doing, for example, trying to impose an illegal leader on Zambia. If indeed one of the mottos of the PF id SELA TUBOMBE…there is no need to pay heed to such things. I remember Levey Mwanawasa spent 1 year or so defending himself saying people should not call him a certain…

  33. vegetable but the day he stopped concentrating on that he delivered a lot. A lot of the projects and fruits that PF claim as their own is as a result of Mwanawasa. in the same vain, PF argues that they have brought infrastructure. Let another person continue with that. It doesnt mean that if you start a project you will finish it as government. you can initiate it and others finish.

  34. Future Zed they will not get it it is beyond them to understand what’s at play. The agenda of regime change using external forces is very real where resources of a nation are at the centre but in this case, gay and lesbian movements aim at imposing a culture on a people and will use a surrogate to get what they want. They have loads of money at their disposal and will do whatever it takes to impose the agenda of the antiChrist on a nation. They have no regard for the sanctity of life or rather family values. Someone tell me what’s so good about UPND when compared to PF? Everything bad PF does UPND will do in extreme.

  36. You brought the economic instability yourself then you are complaining. Leave anything better than you found it.

  37. There are no imaginary forces driving Zambia into instability. The grave error that ECL made was to form PF Militias and Vigilante Groups led by semi PF çMilitary Groups to stop Opposition Parties from Campaigning freely even though we are in a 90 day Campaign Period. The PF Commanders for Mandevu, Munali and Kanyama were blamed by Kennedy Kamba for allowing HH and UPND Alliance to hold Road Shows in the places. It is the PF Security Wing which deployed Cadres to stop HH from Campaigning. These PF Cadres blocked the Streets to stop HH Road Shows. The Residents of these Townships didn’t want what PF Cadres were doing so they beat the PF Çadres into pulp. VEEP Wina should convince her Boss to withdraw their Militias from the Townships ,Streets and Markets if Zambia is to…

  38. UPND cadres are out of control, they have gone crazy ahead of elections. It’s high time to show them the power of our government system!

  39. Indeed, no Zambians should suffer physically and mentally because of UPND! Its goons are beating police, PF cadres, and even their own members. It is getting difficult for us to go out of our homes.

  40. HH has nothing to do with the elections, he just wants to spread violence, threaten people and create a tense atmosphere.

  41. Everyone knows that HH and his party cadres are behind all the political violence. Why no law is targeting and taking direct action against them? Waiting for what?!!!!!

  42. Sadly, young people are stuck in the trap of HH’s dirty politics, instead of focusing on their education and career. Serious steps are needed to save our youths from HH.

  43. The saddest part is even if the police take action against the violence, it will arrest innocent youths who got influenced by the mastermind HH. Whereas, HH will be roaming freely and will destroy more lives of Zambian youths by provoking them. Hichilema is the main culprit! #ArrestHH

  44. President Lungu’s administration busy creating job opportunities for our youths. And, on the other hand, #Bally is destroying the career of the youths. Many UPND youths are in jail suffering because of HH.

  45. Whatever happening in Zambia is shameful. The country is known for its peace-loving people. And, no opposition should allow destroying our country’s image. It’s high time now!!!

  46. All dictators seek an obscure internal enemy so that they may grab more power to abuse their people. There are no forces seeking to destabilise Zambia Madam Wina. Lungu and PF are the cause of our ills. Zambians were very happy and comfortable under Mwanawasa and early Sata days until you lot came along. You started in Kabwe where you bulldozed your way through a convention and imposed Lungu and his machete army on your party and then on the country. Now you are reaping what you sowed. You sowed to the wind and you are reaping a whirlwind.
