Chieftainess Mwenda of the Basanje Tonga speaking people of Chikankata District in Southern Province says security officers should quickly go to the Gold rich Chikani mine to control rampant illegal mining by unscrupulous people.
Chieftainess Mwenda said illegal mining of Gold in Chikani should not be entertained and urged the local people to always keep an eye at Chikani rich Gold mine.
The traditional leader, however said he is aware of Sabi Company who have legally acquired an exploration license at Chikani and that any other people doing illegal activities are trespassing and that should be ejected out of the area.
Chieftainess Mwenda said this in an interview with the Zambia News and Information Services in Chikankata district today.
The traditional leader further disclosed that Chikankata District is rich in mineral deposits such as Gold, Copper, White stones, Nickel and Amethyst to mention but a few which have remained un tapped.
Zambia my rich country, why is all this wealth being discovered now? Wait I ve an answer to my question: these minerals are not being discovered now, they come from as far as 1990 or beyond but (accept KK) all other presidents concealed all these discoveries. For reasons I don’t but as for Edgar Lungu & Chiluba we all know those reasons as we clearly witnessed and felt the day to day pain while those in GRZ enjoy everything.
Now they’ve realized that HH was just bullshhiting about creating employment….kikikikikiki chimbwi no plan demagogue President HH
Nothing illegal with citizens helping themselves to their God given gold.
The Chief is clearly too comfortable here. Sabi company have him. Common man you’re on your own. You might get a job as a driver for the explorers or maybe go and farm mapopwe. Are we just good at mining slag dump sites???
GOLD is valuable .. We do they sell all these.. Or underpriced leaving them still struggling to see the end meet.
Are we going to have a well defined mining system for all these mines before they go out as samples?
The Ministry of Mines is completely obsolete, and the Minister of Mines is OUT OF HIS DEPTH. Once a license has been issued, it’s up to the authorities to protect the discovery, and ensure illegal miners are kept OUT. Not in Zambia, illegal mining is tolerated, this is why genuine investment isn’t happening!
