Mr. Chilundika, the Nchanga Member of Parliament, was at home with his family when the criminals besieged the premises after jumping the perimeter fence.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Sharon Zulu has confirmed that the attack occurred on Monday night.

Ms. Zulu said the incident occurred on August 15, 2022 at about 21:00 hours at House No. 27 Buyantanshi Lane, in Nchanga North.

Ms. Zulu said one of the attackers was shot dead when he attempted to confront an armed police officer who was guarding the premises.

She revealed that Constable Mulapwa reported that on August 15, 2022 at about 21:00hours whilst performing guard duties at the Minister’s residence, he saw one unknown person armed with a machete jumping over the wall fence from outside into the yard.

Ms Zulu said the officer challenged the fugitive and asked what he wanted inside the yard but the intruder could not answer but charged towards the officer.

She said after a while another man jumped over the wall fence into the yard while others from outside started throwing stones into the yard.

    • The entire copperbelt is besieged by criminals. If you have fierce dogs expect them to be poisoned and expect a visit the following night.

  1. So the chap has got a policeman guarding his Chingola home and another one guarding the Mansa Provincial House?

    • All ministers have guards at their homes…he is a Nchanga MP how can he have a provincial house in Mansa? Let’s not just bark any how …ease up on the other bumper harvest you have the one you partnered with Peter Sinkamba.

    • He has a government house in Mansa just like other provinces. He stays at that house. Anyway I am not surprised since someone else has decided to stay in Chalala instead of independence Avenue.

  2. Good riddance how do you jump into someone’s yard and charge at the armed secruity Police officer with a machete and expect to walk out. My question is who are these cowards?

  3. Tarino Orange… how ignorant can you be
He may be MP for Mars but as minister of a province he’s supposed to reside in that province… and all provincial capitals have official residences for minister. PS etc.

  4. Q1 : How did one shot fracture two legs . And how did a person die from a shot at his leg?
Many shots were fired . The fatal shot was among those alleged to go in the air.
The thug was just trying to claim his unsettled campaign money.

    • I would rather one criminal is arrested and tortured so that 1) He can feel the pain 2) He can reveal the other criminals.

  5. It’s important that the motive is established. Criminals don’t just go to steal anyhow especially at night. Further investigations are likely to reveal something. He might even be Congolese. They come into Zambia to steal and are very daring. The other time I shot one through the mouth my dogs couldn’t back and had gone to hide. A Lebanese friend that has lived in DRC for many years told me that they might have smeared themselves with lion faeces. No matter how vicious your dogs might be, they run for life at the smell of lion faeces and that’s common in DRC. The Police must follow whoever will come to claim the body

  6. Cooked up report. Time 21.00hours in Nchanga North, many people are moving about. *while others from outside started throwing stones into the yard,” This should have been a mob, What was the motive behind?? Could it be some youth reminding Mr Chilundika of not repaying his compaghn promises? Remember he had only one message in his campaghins which he was comminicating from 05.00 to 24.00hours that when he was voted as MP he will employee many unemployeed youth of Nchanga Consituency.
Oh the arraged criminal is dead. Can the nation be informed of his identity.??
One shot fractured two legs. How possible?? I smel murder.

    • Normally the criminals strike at between 02:00 and 03:30 hrs when people are in deep sleep. Aba bakaya and the dead one will be easily identified

  7. She revealed that “Constable Mulapwa reported that on August 15, 2022 at about 21:00hours whilst performing guard duties at the Minister’s residence”
