Under No Circumstances Can Acts of Homosexuality Be Approved-Catholic Bishops

Share

The Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops says acts of homosexuality are contrary to the natural law and under no circumstances can they be approved.

ZCCB Secretary General Reverend Father Francis Mukosa says tradition has always declared that homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered as they close the sexual act to the gift of life and do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarily.

Father Mukosa said in this regard, the Church is called to provide appropriate assistance and accompaniment to all her erring children, including those with homosexual tendencies, so that they may learn to do what is right before God and men.

He has noted that many forces in society promote a view of sexuality in general, and homosexuality in particular, that is contrary to God’s purpose and plan for human sexuality.

Father Mukosa said any position statement, therefore, circulating on social media that contradicts the above position is the opinion of its own authors and does not engage the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Meanwhile, Operation Young Vote-OYV- has said that it is unfortunate if it is true, assertions that some individuals are championing an agenda that government wants to legalize homosexuality and sodomy with the view of making citizens loss confidence in the current leadership and bring government down.

OYV Executive Director Guess Nyirenda said that it is sickening and uncalled for to insinuate and allege through parading persons purported to have been involved in the unnatural conduct and widely circulating the same on social media, even when it is clear that the Zambian laws do not permit such.

Mr. Nyirenda said that president Hakainde Hichilema and his government have been categorical on many occasions and platforms regarding Zambia’s stance religiously, socially, morally, legally and otherwise on homosexuality and sodomy or any act against the order of nature.

Mr. Nyirenda further stated that what is very concerning is the manner in which some sections of society have been so strategic to jump on anything they can brand or relate to homosexuality and sodomy even when some of similar happenings were started and enhanced in the previous regime.

Mr. Nyirenda said that while it could be true that there could be some increase in cases of homosexuality and sodomy in the country, one would be justified to assume that there could be a scheme to discredit the leadership in the country.

  1. LGBTQ is a very powerful orgainsation in the world . It is growing at very fast rate. It has penetrated powerful govts and global financial institutions. The USA govt is full of LGBTQ members. Europe is full of them too. You find them at the World bank, IMF and all the financial groupings. So remember if you get support and money from them then you expect to go by what they ask of you.” Scratch my back , I scratch yours”. What our “friends” are asking us is to protect and safe guard the rights of their members in Zambia. They want space to recruit members and freely practice in Zambia. They are our friends …….Who is going to stop them????

  2. When Biden addressed the UN general assembly, he emphasised on the protecting the human rights including those of the gays and Lesbians. Did we object to his address. Instead we clapped and gave him a standing ovation.

  3. The saying goes…..you shall know them by the friends they keep. Who are our best friends this time……the Western world!

  4. An act of homosexuality is a matter between God and the persons involved. It should never be a matter for the secular state. God prohibited homosexual acts only between the people whose God He was. He did not prohibit the acts among outsiders. The apostle Paul also says, ‘Such were some of you, but you were washed…’ He did not expect people to become straight without regeneration. He did not go on a protest demonstration through the streets of Corinth or lobby the Roman emperor to criminalise acts of homosexuality. Religious people must not apply their religious laws to people outside their religion. The secular state is only mandated to deal with matters that harm one man by another. This is the Noah covenant.

  5. People have misconstrued the Pope’s statement on homosexuality. The Pope has only likened this status to any other disability and as such we must treat these people just as we treat the blind, the lame etc. Just to show compassion… not to encourage the activity.

  6. Always listen to the emphasis on “HUMAN RIGHTS”. Its all about human rights in the morning at dawn, in the afternoon, and in the cover of darkness as they meet to discuss human rights. Shame-leni, shame! Useless people who have no regard for God’s commands and statutes. Your place is HELL!

  7. The church is just a bunch of failures. In Cuba the church took the same approach of telling the govt to forbid LBGTQ rights.
But the people totally dismissed the church. In last weeks referendum 67% of the electorate voted for gay rights.

    • You like referencing Cuba a lot. What’s up with that? Cuba is not our role model. Zambia is a sovereign State with its own laws. The anti LGBTQ laws in Zambia stem from the Christian faith, the African tradition and culture. The growth of homosexuality in Africa is as a result of overexposure, and easy access, to western decadent culture through entertainment avenues that promote it. It’s a learned behavior, and has nothing to do with genetics. Homosexuality has no place in Zambia.

  8. Through out the world the catholic church has been charged with allowing many priests to practice homosexuals act on young boys, the church protect these scum. Don’t trust anything they say.

  9. The biggest gang of homosexuals trying to forbid others to do the same. Trying to keep to themselves. These guys must be selfish.

  10. No to homosexuality, give us a referendum on this so that we can vote on whether to go ahead and allow this UNNATURAL ACT or live the Natural way, our way of living. Let them keep their money if their donations comes attached with this abhoration.
