We should stop celebrating 24 October because we are not independent.

    • It’s actually a bit complicated. When African migrants in the Middle East are being mistreated, where is this Afro-Arab solidarity? Fred M’membe and Grieve Chelwa would do well to apply their minds to that.

    • On the Lussia-Ucraine conflict, they took sides and told the world at the 2022 UNGA that Zambia can not afford to be non-aligned.
Zambia has no backbone of its own for going against their word, inconsistently, in the Middle East.

    • Well done Zambia, we are with Israel and will not vote for something that favours terror groups such as Hamas who are using their own people as human shields.

    • When did Israel ever obey a UN resolution? Or to take you back to apartheid when did South Africa ever obey a UN resolution? These racists always know they are in the majority among those holding global power

  2. it might be painful but it is well and let’s continue praying for an end to the conflict. These are not simple decisions but complex choices requiring lots of wisdom not intelligent mind, This too shall pass

  3. Zambian Chickens! Scared of voting against Master Biden and Netanyahu Zambia preferred to perch on the fence. Exactly the way its government at home behaves. When Nkombo forces minors to drink Poison K, his president sits on the fence. When Kakubo is bribed by Sinoma HH is still on the fence. Syakalima insults Luapulans the president is on the New Kasama fence, National prayer day arrives and they are scared of Zambia’s huge Christian population HH takes a dive

  4. Unlike indecisive scared little boy hh, we in pf are clear on what and who we support. Jews illegally settle on other peoples land. Free the Palestinians. We support Palestine

    • The Arabs call you blacks “kaffir” and even Sudan broke up bcoz they mistreated black southerners. To hell with the Arabs/Palestinians…they still mistreat African maids working in the Gulf nations.

  5. This should be on principle not at Israel is God’s chosen people. We are all God’s people and any sane person can see what damage Netenyahu has done to the Palestinians.
Anyway we are getting instructions from Sleepy Joe Biden so play coward by not “taking sides”

    • @Deja Vu, every god was created by regressive tribalists in their own image, a bipolar personality, loving for members of the tribal clustering, jealous of other gods and vengeful of non-believers.
A fictional supernal heaven reserved for members of the tribal cults, non-members consigned to hell where the ghoul (god/allah) personally tortures non-believers.
A poppycock unholy bipolar roadside cheap cock and bull story, more hatred for non-believers and cheapskate mentality of ‘sin guilt’ and salvation by a purportedly emissary of god/allah who could not save himself from crucification and poison.
Religion is opium that is dished out by the evil nexus of the rulers and priests.

  6. At least i am not a liar
You play no part in Pf they even need you to answer to some issues
You just a compound chap who gets kicks out of irritating people

  7. When one is stuck between following the masters directive and doing what’s right ,one chickens ,yet too quick to condemn Russia which never bombed children as we see in Palestine, where are we going

  8. The resolution itself was not clear . Who is the aggressor? Hamas or Israel ?
In the case of Ukraine vs Russia….Russia was clearly the aggressor
In this case abstaining was the best decision.

    • #independent

The Resolution is very clear. It is requesting for a halt in fighting to allow for aid to reach civilians. What more clarity can the world be asking for?
International law demands that conflicts are as humane as possible by allowing for humanitarian corridors. That is what SADC and the rest of 120 countries voted for.

    • My Zambia
      Read the full resolution
      10. Also stresses the need to urgently establish a mechanism to ensure the protection of the Palestinian civilian population, in accordance with international law and the relevant United Nations resolutions;
Lets be fair …What about the Israelis living in the border areas with Gaza who Hamas has been shelling with rockets?

  9. Cameroon , South Sudan , Cape Verde also abstained alongside Zambia
For the typical Zambian who is lazy to read and just get excited with alarming LT headlines.

  11. I salute Zambia for abstaining. Almost all countries that voted for ceasefire also failed to condemn Hamas killing of innocent Israelis, including the kidnapping. IDF is retaliating Hamas attack, while some abstained Russian aggression of Ukraine invasion, kidnapping children and indiscriminate bombing of power facilities to stave civilians in winter.

    • Why would Zambia show disinterest and lack of concern in this very important undertaking? To abstain is to be absent. The last time we voted, it was against Lussia’s war in Ucraine. We set a precedence. We can’t afford to be neutral any more.

  12. Well done Zambia, but that was not good enough because abstaining is tantamount to betrayal in the spirit world — just like Peter denied Jesus thrice before the cock crowed.
Fact is, Zambia as Christian nation, should always be siding with Israel, no matter what, without fear of repercussions from other countries. And why? It’s because of how God regards and values the Jews and what He has said about them.
Simply put, being against Israel is fighting God. And who would want to fight God? Only the enemy would want to do that.
So let’s stand with the Jews the way the US and others have unwaveringly done.

  13. “Sustained humanitarian truce leading to a cessation of hostilities” is the Resolution Title.
In case you don’t know, Gazans are stateless and depend on the Israeli government to provide, electricity, water, jobs and other amenities which were cut off after the terror attack.

    • What commandment Deja-Vu? “He that sacrificeth unto any God save unto the lord only he shall be utterly destroyed”

    • Deja Vu cant you read? I have read it and I have quoted it in my post above as you can clearly see. Its not a commandment unless you have cited the wrong verses??

    • Don’t show your ignorance . Israelis don’t follow The Bible and they’re NOT CHRISTIANS ,they go by The Torah as those of Jewish faith.

  14. Your enemies are not our enemies but the one who controls the world pulls all the shots. Puppetry is when you are told what to do and unfortunately Zambia falls into that category. Nkalamu ilibe meno.

  15. Even if you vote for or against, the UN General Assembly is just a talking shop with not teeth to bite. The big boys in the security council have more of the say.

  16. As if voting means anything for Africans. I believe those votes are not even counted but are just on paper. I wish we could just be isolated as a continent.

  18. From the country that freed Southern Africa, to a scared, right wing sellout country. Kaunda, Mugabe and leaders of that generation did not have enormous wealth tied to foreign countries, and they could exercise independent foreign policy. If Hakainde had been in the position of Kaunda in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, we would have had the same foreign policy as that of Malawi towards South Africa. That being said, our capital city would look like Nairobi, and sadly, those same South Africans and Zimbabweans who do not realise how much we sacrificed economically to free for them, would respect and admire us as much as they do the Kenya that was absent from their freedom struggle
