Nkana assistant coach Josphat Nkhoma says Kalampa are seeking a good ending to their troubled 2025/26 Super League season after Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Zesco United in Ndola.
Forward Nduna Zulu scored a late goal at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium as Nkana posted their ninth win of the season with two matches left in the season.
Nkana completed a double over Zesco, having won the first leg match 2-1 at home in Kitwe earlier in January.
In a post-match comment, Nkhoma said the victory over Zesco has been dedicated to the club supporters.
“We really wanted this win. We came here for a win, not a draw. It’s a sweet victory for all of us and our supporters,” he said.
“This victory is for our supporters; they have cried a lot. People have been talking especially that our neighbours (Power Dynamos) are doing fine, they have won the league,” Nkhoma said.
Nkana’s next match will be against FC Muza next Sunday at Nkana Stadium in Wusakile.
“We are now looking at the last two games; we need to get maximum points. Our target is to finish well,” Nkhoma said.
He predicted a tough match against Muza.
“Everyone knows, it is not a simple game playing Muza, Muza have been recording away victories. It won’t be an easy game but with our supporters and all the support we are receiving right now we just have to get maximum points against Muza,” Nkhoma said.
Nkana are number 13 on the table with 38 points from 32 matches played.
