First National Bank (FNB) has commissioned a refurbished Basketball Court, to Zambia Centre for Accountancy Studies (ZCAS) as part of its ongoing initiative of transforming public spaces into motivation for the young people.
Speaking at the event, FNB Chief Marketing Officer Kasali Kaingu said sport has the power to instill discipline, foster leadership, and help young people discover both their strengths and areas for improvement, qualities that are essential for personal growth and development.
Ms Kaingu added her institution is committed to creating opportunities for young people to develop confidence, discipline, teamwork and a winning mindset that serves them well on and off the pitch.
“Through our corporate social investment initiatives, we continue to invest in projects that positively impact education, youth development, entrepreneurship and community well-being,” said Ms Kaingu.
Zambia Centre for Accountancy Studies Vice Chancellor, Edwin Bbenkele, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor-Innovation and Research Burton Mweemba, added that sports are part of the school curriculum, and that the facility will uplift lives of the young people
Prof Bbenkele also highlighted the socialisation factor that the facility will promote among the students.
ZCAS Student Union Vice President, Karren Phiri, assured the stakeholders of good care of the facility, stating that it will go beyond the current intake of students.
