The Head of State said this when he addressed hundreds of people during a community engagement in Shiwang’andu District.
President Hichilema further said the establishment of a large-scale mine would discourage illegal mining and promote safer operations that will enable miners to earn better prices for their minerals.
Meanwhile, the President said he assented to the law introducing the proportional representation electoral system, which will allow more women and other underrepresented groups to be elected to Parliament.
The Head of state noted that this will result in an increased participation of women and underrepresented groups in the country’s governance
