Gary Nkombo Files Nomination as Independent Candidate for Mazabuka Central

Former Cabinet minister Gary Nkombo has officially filed his nomination papers as an independent parliamentary candidate for Mazabuka Central Constituency ahead of the August 13 general elections.

His filing comes amid reports of a violent confrontation involving suspected political cadres who allegedly attempted to block him from accessing the nomination venue.

The incident has raised concerns over escalating political tensions during the nomination process.

Despite the reported disturbances, Nkombo successfully filed his nomination to contest as an independent candidate for the Mazabuka Central parliamentary seat.

Following the nomination process, Nkombo was later admitted to Mazabuka District Hospital after reportedly developing high blood pressure and sustaining injuries during the disturbances.

  1. Because of this, I’m never gonna be a UPND Supporter or voter when I come home after my studies.
I will form a very civilised political party with no cadres, Noone from the copperbelt, Chingola or Mazabuka and Mapatizya

  2. Nkombo has decided to become independent of UPND, so what is the problem here? But the interesting part which i want to hear which we will never hear is the arrest, prosecution and conviction of the attackers. Because as at now, we could have heard the first part, which is the arrest.

    • Zambia, cry my beloved country. The one who sent them could even be the first one to condemn.
