Electoral Commission of Zambia Vice Chairperson Vicent Mukanda has expressed optimism that the Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing Company engaged to print ballot papers for this year’s general election will deliver quality works.
Maj. Gen. Mukanda has pointed out that Al Ghurair , a Dubai based company has a proven record of producing quality works in its previous engagements such as the 2016 and 2021 elections.
  General Mukanda was speaking when he and other political party representatives toured the printing press in Dubai, United Arab Emirates today.
“The ECZ is satisfied with the quality of works done by the company in its previous engagements,” Maj. Gen. Mukanda said shortly before a conducted tour of the plant today.
 He said  the Commission remains committed to conducting elections that are free, fair, transparent and credible, adding that stakeholder involvement remains a key pillar of the electoral process. Ballot.
“We commit to be as transparent as possible in this process,” he assured.
ECZ Chief Electoral Officer Brian Kasaro urged stakeholders who are in Dubai to witness the printing process and consult where possible to fully understand the task that lay ahead of them.
The printing of the ballot papers for the 2026 General Elections officially starts tomorrow June 30th 2026.
During a stakeholder engagement meeting held on June 20,2026, Â in Lusaka, ECZ Chairperson Mwangala Zaloumis said all political parties participating in the elections have been invited to send representatives to witness the entire ballot paper printing process.
Mrs. Zaloumis explained that the presence of political party representatives during the printing exercise is intended to enhance transparency and build confidence among stakeholders in the electoral process.
