North-Western Province Permanent Secretary Colonel Grandson Katambi Retired (RTD) has urged the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources to prioritise the welfare of officers in the province in order to increase their productivity.
Speaking when the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources Chief Accountant Samson Mwale and his team paid a courtesy call on him, Col Katambi stated that a motivated workforce contributes positively to quality service delivery and achieves results.
He added that North-Western Province being a vast and growing economic Province has a lot of activities happening and required the Ministry to upgrade its staffing levels to ensure quality service delivery.
He highlighted the need for officers to be empowered with proper vehicles to suit the terrain in order for officers to reach far places.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources Chief Accountant Samson Mwale hinted that the ministry was in the process of restructuring the ministry to ensure that some positions were upgraded and staffing levels were beefed up to address the shortage being experienced in some places.
The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources team are in North-Western Province to upgrade staff information, staff returns and asset verification among other activities.
